absolutely amazing!
Ben was absolutely amazing! He was really friendly, relaxed and fitted in as if he was one of the guests, whilst also giving enough direction to make things run smoothly, the perfect balance! Our guests all commented on how friendly and great he was too.

Frequently Asked Questions
(10)

What is your most memorable wedding?

I shot a wedding this year at the Roman Baths in Bath. It's my first UNESCO site wedding and it was a very special day.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Fun, Relaxed, Informal, Natural, Beautiful

What about your business are you most proud of?

That people regularly recommend me. It means I'm doing something right!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Meet with your photographer. They end up playing a very large role in your day. So meet up and make sure you get along and have similar ideas.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Having an Owl as a ring bearer was interesting.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

We have a quick chat on the phone or via email, and then arrange to meet face to face. We meet over a coffee and have a proper chat about the wedding and what the couple want from their photographer. I recommend they don't book on the day but think it over. If the couple want to book after that I send out contracts for them to sign and we keep in touch with emails of via Facebook and pinterest. Sometimes we meet closer to the wedding occasionally at the venue itself. Then the wedding day shoot! After that I keep them posted with how their photos are coming on and when some will be available to view online. At the end I will get the photos to the couple and often we stay in touch afterwards.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

A tricky question that I don't think has a real answer. It depends very much on the couple and the type of wedding they have. Although I'm not a fan of the overly orchestrated couple's photos, having some decent shots together make for some very good memories, and with so many people around and so much going on, it can act as a little respite and give them some quality time together.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

A boudoir shoot during the bridal prep. I was caught between trying to do a good job, and at the same time trying to be a gentleman and avert my eyes.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Embrace it as much as possible. If the Bride and Groom put on a brave face and insist on having the best time possible, the guests who are understandably upset for you relax and everyone invariably has a great day. On a side note although England has a reputation for inclement weather it is my experience that it is very rare for rain to be set in for an entire day. Especially a day outside of January and February, so even if it is a little miserable you can usually catch some photos outside. A flexible approach on a rainy day is invaluable.

Describe how you got into photography.

I've liked taking photographs for many years. I did a photography A level and enjoyed it but thought nothing much more of keeping it as a pastime. However at a friends wedding I shot some photos enjoyed that and was asked by their photographer to be a second shooter at another wedding. I did that enjoyed it too and thought it was great. The next wedding I shot was all on my own, it went off without a hitch and I've been shooting weddings ever since. I started when was 19 and understandably some people didn't want to entrust their wedding photos to a young lad, but over a few years work built, recommendations continued and I went full time a couple of years back.
