Experienced Hastings based Wedding Photographer, available for work in the East Sussex area, including Battle, Bexhill, Eastbourne, Rye. Im available for all weddings, civil partnerships, blessings, engagements, and other events too. I like to combine beautiful, striking portraits of the bride and groom, and their guests, with candid, natural shots too, showing the guests chatting and laughing, these can be more interesting than the posed shots, as well as close ups of details such as flowers, rings, the food etc, so that everything is captured, creating a picture of the entire event from start to finish. I always have a meeting with the clients before any booking, to discuss their ideas and requirements, to show them more of my work, to help them decide if they want to go ahead and book my services. If they do, then another meeting, nearer the wedding date, is arranged to go through the schedule and work out finer details, group shots, time table etc. And ideally I will visit the venue to work out the best places for certain shots. On the day Im happy to cover all aspects of the wedding, and I will take 1,500 - 2,000 shots. After the wedding, Im happy to do retouching work on PhotoShop on up to six of the couples favourite images, at no extra charge. 350 - 450 of the best images will be chosen to give the Bride and Groom, delivered on disc or USB stick. Prices from £495. I have been a keen photographer since i was about ten years old, and been taking photos all my life. But until recently, my work has been based in London and focused on moving images, as a film-maker, making short films and music videos. I recently moved back to my home town of Hastings to focus on photography full time and turn my passion into my business. In all my work I try to combine beauty and style with realism, I prefer natural lighting, but my work in film has given me a great understanding of lighting techniques, which allows me to create stunning and evocative portraits.

What is your most memorable wedding?
Dan & Eve's wedding, at Swallows Oast in East Sussex. They were two of the nicest people Ive ever met, and so hugely in love, childhood sweethearts who had been together for seven years, since they were sixteen. Everything was perfect, beautiful location, gorgeous day, lovely guests and everything was so relaxed but totally perfect, and everyone was just incredibly happy.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Beautiful, stylish, modern, natural, timeless.
What about your business are you most proud of?
People say Im a very happy and relaxed person, and blend in effortlessly, and they barely notice me taking pictures and are surprised by how many shots Ive taken that they really love. Couples really love my Bride & Groom shots, described as 'magical' 'stunning' and 'like a fairy-tale'.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't get stressed out by details not being perfect, or not being on schedule. Nobody minds if things are not perfect, they just want you to be happy and enjoy your day. So if anything goes wrong, don't worry about it, let someone else deal with it!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Doing all their own flowers, which were simple but completely beautiful.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Showing them my book, discussing what they like, what they want, how they want their day to go, what is important for them. Then meeting up again closer to the wedding day to check out the venue and go through the schedule / timetable. After the wedding I edit the pics from 1500-2000 down to 250 - 300 of the very best shots, which I deliver on USB stick. I will work on up to six of their key images with photoshop and retouching to make them really stunning, perfect images. I will put together a high quality glossy coffee table style photo book, if they want me to.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Just the two of them alone, somewhere beautiful and quiet, having a private, joyous, romantic moment together away from everyone else, even if its just for a few minutes.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Bride & groom, plus Bridesmaids and Groomsmen being chased by a T-Rex! The final shot came out great!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Rainy days can be wonderful, the lighting is very flattering on skin tones, and moody skies can be very atmospheric too. I would wait for a moment when the rain has stopped to get some shots with dramatic skies, and work fast, before the rain starts again. And if the rain continues, I would make a feature of it, without asking the bride to get wet - unless she was happy to!
Describe how you got into photography.
Ive been passionate about photography since I was ten years old, I used to take my camera in to my primary school! Ive been taking pictures ever since.
