Acronym Photography Full Description
I love wedding photography and it will show not only in the final product but throughout your day. I have the best job in the world. I’m Simon, a professional wedding photographer based in Bideford, North Devon; working throughout the South West. I believe that I do a better job by getting to know you and your guests, by being absorbed into your day- not simply hovering around the edges with my camera- I will capture beautiful, natural portraits plus all the little stories that surround your day. Photography is an experience. Wedding photography particularly so. Your day is unique and individual, and this is the way I will treat it. I don’t have any fixed way of doing things. I’ll fit in with the way you want things done; I am happy to be invited along the journey of the planning so that I can offer guidance and support but only when it is asked for. You will look stunning on your wedding day, and my goal is to capture that forever. I think the telling of a story is vital: so I’d like to be there for you all day, from getting ready through to the speeches and into the evening. I will create beautiful images for your wall, crafted on the day with lighting and scenery. I will also produce a reportage style story of your day, plus, of course, a vast selection of photos on your USB Stick, the relevance of which will only become apparent years later when you flick back through them; forgotten faces and lost friends will return. Please get in contact, I’d love to hear more about your wedding.

The BEST photographer we have ever seen at any Wedding!!!
From the moment Simon arrived he put the entire Bridal party, and all the guests at ease, he was so much fun to be with and made the day even more special. The sneak peak photos we have seen already are absolutely breathtaking & he went above & beyond to make sure everyone was included in the big day! Simon you are amazing and the day would not have been the same without you, the Brides & our guests including little Miss Primrose all loved you! Thank you so much.

Excellent service!
We had the pleasure of working with Simon for our wedding a couple of weeks ago. From the outset he was very friendly, chatty and professional and gave us so much advice and went above and beyond on the day to make sure he captured the entire day and evening. The resulting photos are beautiful, crystal clear and lots of candid moments captured as well as more formal 'posed' shots. We would highly recommend Simon's services!

Our dream wedding became a reality!
We got married on 23rd September 2023 at the Sandy Cove Hotel in Devon. It was an absolutely beautiful day, start to finish and we were able to capture our very special moments that we will be able to look back on and treasure for the rest our lives thanks to our incredible photographer Simon from Acronym photography! Not only did he make us feel super relaxed throughout the day, all of our guests were also very impressed with his personality and also made even the formal photos look very natural and relaxed for everyone. He also took time to take us down onto the beach and allowed us to have some beautiful photos on the beach as well! Overall we couldn’t have had a nicer photographer and who was just such a lovely genuine chap who was able to make our day even more special for us. Thank you so much Simon Love from Mr and Mrs Hinton. Xx

Simon was absolutely fantastic
We cannot recommend Simon enough!! We booked him for a full day package for our wedding and he captured the whole day beautifully. Wonderful to work with, made us feel very relaxed and has the best eye for a photo. We've loved reliving our day and going through his photos. Thanks again Simon!
Response from the supplier
Hi Barbara, Thank you so much, that’s very kind. With such a beautiful venue, gorgeous family, hilarious friends and an inflatable TRex suit, you all made it such an amazing day - it was my pleasure. I look forward to seeing your printed images. Big love, Simon.

Part silent ninja photo artist, part wedding entertainment
I was so pleased we chose Simon for our wedding photographer. He was great on the day and handled our indecisiveness very well. He not only took the expected lovely photos, but also some with unique and interesting compositions, and captured all the laughter and love of the day. He was a large part of the fun and laughter on the day and really got everyone to loosen up and get involved. The rest of the time I didn't even notice he was there taking photos, he just vanished into the background and captured all the key parts of the day. 5/5 would totally recommend.

Looking for a photographer can be daunting, but after speaking to Simon all of our worries were put at ease. He went above and beyond with his efforts, and we couldn’t be happier with the beautiful photos that he took. He truly captured the magic of the day and we will cherish these photos forever. It was a pleasure to have him with us. I wish we could do it all over again. Thank you ever so much Simon!

Frequently Asked Questions
(10)

What is your most memorable wedding?

Either: Polly and Darren at Tunnels Beach, it was the first time I'd seen an argument between a £5000 dress and a sparkler (luckily her husband is a member of The London Fire Brigade and there were several other members there). Or when Sarah and Simon sent me about 5 WhatsApp photos of their house decorated in dozens of photographs I'd made for them at their wedding.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Friendly, knowledgeable, empathetic, tenacious and fun.

What about your business are you most proud of?

I love that I do a better job by getting to know you and your guests, by being absorbed into your day- this is the most common feedback I receive and makes me very proud of the service I provide.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Buy or make table and venue decorations that you can use in your home afterwards, they'll bring lasting memories.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Dogs. I love it when a couple bring their dogs to a wedding.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

We have a chat via email, plan a phone-call or a Zoom (eeeek), perhaps have an initial meeting involving coffee where I learn all about your wedding, you the couple, your friends and family.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

Give YOUR phone/camera to a friend, let them take photos of you (not selfies); have photos of yourself from another's perspective.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

A guest frog-leaping a bride. And yes, it was a Young Farmers wedding. 😉

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Smiles and transparent umbrellas. I bring both.

Describe how you got into photography.

I've always owned a camera, I have boxes and boxes of photos of family and friends from when we grew up. I originally trained in black and white photography, processing and developing wedding photos on film. At university I specialised in non-digital image projection. Nowadays I shoot digital cameras and I love them; I'm able to deliver hundreds and hundreds of photographs in both colour and black and white (so you can choose which you prefer) that tell the whole story of your day.

Bridebook Benefits

Bridebook Special OfferI'll buy the coffee at our meeting! (I don't want you to book me because I offered you a deal, book me because we are the perfect fit).
