Reportage / Documentary
Hailing from somewhere between Bristol and Birmingham, we create beautiful memories for big wedding days. A perfect mix of artistic, reportage and documentary styles, we honed our style over many years. Shooting to look like film, we style our shots to make them light and airy, with selective focus on the most important parts of the shot. Our images are all about the good times had throughout the day, with stuffy and posed shots kept to a bare minimum. Super friendly to work with, our photographer Jon has spent years in a printing lab producing millions of photographs for other pro photographers, before going it alone and setting up Special Day Photography. With a Masters in Photography, quality and skill is assured throughout. Nothing is too much for the big day, from helping you runner smaller items around the venue, gathering guests for any group shots, to even helping out guests with any camera issues they might have on their day. Imagine someone with years in the service industry combined with the skill of a trained and tested photographer. We'd love to meet up or call you one day about a wedding, and hope to hear from you soon with your crazy big ideas for the day!

What is your most memorable wedding?
My favourite wedding to date must be when I shot my University friends Liv's wedding. It was in my first 10 or so weddings and was shooting Liv marrying her high school girlfriend Emma. In a field in the middle of nowhere, it was great to be reunited with my friends from years back!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Light, airy, photographically aethetic.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I love being able to see all the reviews and testimonials come in, it really helps to show I'm doing something right for others!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Bring flat shoes, heels will hurt after an entire day.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
My brothers wedding, he had a cube shaped black and white checkered cake with a hundred identical cupcake versions.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After an email chat, if they live locally I usually meet up at a pub/coffee shot to have a chat and answer any questions. After that I send out a contract for signing and deposit, then wait until a month before the wedding before contacting again to ensure all details are still correct.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
One with your kids if you have them. If not, one with the rings.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Umbrellas, wellies and a good dry cleaning company
Describe how you got into photography.
My dad was a landscape photographer who was published round the world. I still use his camera today.
