What is your most memorable wedding?
Our own - we were married in 2010 - partners in life and in business!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Iconic, Non-Traditional, Fun, High-Fashion, Vintage.
What about your business are you most proud of?
That we are able to provide a service for those people who, like us, wish to push the boundaries of wedding photography.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Trust your gut! Don't be swayed by other people's opinions and don't let the process consume you. What's important is the two of you, making a commitment to each other, surrounded by the people closest to you. (Wow, we sound like a Hallmark card!)
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
This may be a little biased, but we love seeing photographs from our clients' Love Shoots (pre-wedding/engagement session) utilised in some way at their weddings. We've seen everything from photo boards, to guest books and signing cards, to photos on sweets, cakes and chocolate, and even in jewellery.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Generally, if you like what you see we'll invite you for a caffeine fix and an informal chat where we can talk through any questions you might have. This is a great opportunity to see if we all click. If you decide you'd like to progress things our next step will be sorting out the necessary paperwork and deposit and, then, it's onto the fun stuff! We include a complimentary pre-wedding shoot (we call this a Love Shoot) with all of our packages because we think it's important to get to know you guys before the big day. At your Love Shoot we can discuss in detail any specific ideas you may have for your wedding photography - don't be afraid to run your ideas past us, we are always up for trying something new!
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Every couple is different, so why should your photographs be the same as everyone else? We work with you to bring out what makes you, you. So the No.1 photo for you will be whatever makes you guys tick.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
This is one of those how-long-is-a-piece-of-string questions! All of our images are original for different reasons, it could be the setting, the composition, the people in them or the props used, or a combination of all of these factors. One of our most memorable shots has to be a bride & groom pictured at the side of the road, at a bus stop, after their transport broke down en-route to their portrait session!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Umbrellas and a sense of fun! We always carry clear umbrellas for our couples so as long as you are up for having a little dance in the rain, then so are we. Rain can make an awesome prop!
Describe how you got into photography.
We are quite a creative couple. Mr Twig has a background in the arts and studied photography at college before moving onto a career in Graphic Design, elements of which can be seen in his style of editing today. Twig's Branch began life as an artistic blog created purely for leisure purposes but, before long, people were asking us to shoot weddings and other special events. And so Twig's Branch Photography was born.
Mrs Twig, a former journalist and marketing pro, joined the biz officially a few years later when things started to grow exponentially and we haven't looked back since.
We are Shropshire's answer to Batman & Robin, a dynamic duo tackling the traditional photography industry head on to deliver our brand of iconic, vintage photography across the UK and beyond.
