What is your most memorable wedding?
It was a wedding with 600 guests. My hardest wedding to-date and certainly the loudest too!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Timeless, happy, reportage, focused, memorable
What about your business are you most proud of?
My awards and other recognitions
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Having someone confident in charge of ensuring that your wedding day flows smoothly, someone caterers and guests can turn to with questions, will ease some of the pressure on couples and makes your day more enjoyable.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A two-sided wedding cake that catered for both bride and groom's personalities
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After the initial contact I like to set up a skype/factime or a face-to-face meeting with my couples to talk about initial ideas and requirements. It's important for my business to clarify expectations and ensure that my photography fits the style of the images my couples are after.
We then set up a date to visit the venue together and walk around making notes on where to take some of the more formal photographs (such as group shots) around the venue. I then work closely with the venue and the couple to agree timelines. Between the initial contact and visiting the venue I take a non-refundable deposit to secure your date as well as sign a contract with you that outline my terms and conditions.
On the day itself i arrive at the agreed time and set up to start shooting photographs. My assistant and I will either work together on the same scene or split up to take photographs of various groops/aspcts of your wedding throughout the day. We will be on our feet all day to capture every special moment and will only break for a short time during the wedding breakfast (after all, noone likes photographs when their mouth is full!).
We typically stay just until after the first dance to capture images of your first dance as well as some photographs of your guests dancing.
Following the wedding I start the time-comsuming process of individually editing your best wedding photographs. These will be uploaded to your online wedding album within the agreed timeline in the contract. Once the images are online we can start the process of putting together your wedding album and any other prints and/or wall art you ordered.
Throughout thsi process you will have access to me and can ask any questions you may have. I am very flexible with most changes that need to be made - just ask.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Photos of themselves, together, away from guests and relatives
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
To make the best of it - have umbrellas as a back-up and just go with the flow (no pun intended). I'll work with you to capture your gorgeous wedding-day images.
