Full Description
  • My wife and I got married in Las Vegas back in the early spring of 2012. It wasn't a last minute elopement but a carefully planned wedding that took into account our desires for a low-key, intimate occasion, and to satisfy a desire to cross the Atlantic - at that time, the US was somewhere we had never been before. As keen snowboard/skier, a honeymoon in the "neighbouring" Californian mountains was also huge factor in the final decision. And so we did it. I remember that day. Getting ready in the hotel which took all of 5 minutes then nervously wandering around the hotel whilst I waited for her to finish with her makeup; Seeing her for the first time, with her curls and lashes; The limo ride down the main strip towards the Little Chapel of Flowers - the place where we were to be husband and wife; The lump in my throat, and the shallow breaths as we exchanged vows; The road trip through dusty red desert towards California. It was a great day. 12 years and three kids later, we still reminisce. We have the odd picture to aid our story, as we didn't have a photographer - Photography was a dim light back then, not the constant glow it is now. I wish we had something to show our children. Not that they'd care now, but they will as time goes by. These memories, these experiences influence how I take photos now. I want you to look at your pictures and reminisice about those moments you remember, and the little details you missed, and I'll do my best to make them as beautiful as I possibly can. My wedding day memories are there of course. In vivid colour and timeless black and white. I often time travel back to our wedding day as a wedding photographer. I got some great shots.

Ask a question
What is your most memorable wedding?
In Texas, I got to shoot a rifle whilst hanging with the groomsmen. They were all country cowboys and wanted to show this Londoner why they're so attached to their guns. I'm yet to be convinced but we got some great pictures. Stetsons, ten gallon hats, a porch, and miles of Texas country. It was quite the experience.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Authentic, unobtrusive, spontaneous, emotive, intimate
What about your business are you most proud of?
My craft is the culmination of my experiences and influences and the pictures I take resonate with me. I'm proud that I don't have to bend to the latest fads and trends, and that enough couples connect with my work so that I don't have to.
What is your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Ask to view full wedding galleries to get a clearer idea on what you're likely to receive. Do you have a connection with a particular photographer's work? Choose them, and do so in plenty of time.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
The speeches are often my favourite time. The formal events of the day are over and guests are enjoying themselves over a meal and a drink (or two). I love the expressions I'm able to get during this time. The most personal touch that I've witnessed was a poem, written and read by the maid of honour to her friend, the bride. It was a 10 minute ode that covered their childhood to the here and now. A lump in throat moment.
What is the #1 photo that you think every couple should take?
The one that they didn't know was being taken.
