When my second daughter told me of her plan to marry in the garden instead of in church, I was not pleased. My first daughter had married in the local church. I had married in church. This concept was not one I was familiar with - I didn’t think it would feel like a proper wedding. However, i couldn’t have been more wrong.
We met with Nichola and went through the ceremony and gradually we put together a really personal and original wedding service that everyone has said was the highlight of the day.
Charlotte walked down the aisle with her father to “Here comes the sun’, we sang a couple of songs with Charlottes Uncle leading the singing with the guitar, her brother sang with a friend while they signed the certificate, we had a lovely reading from her sister and a friend of George wrote and recited a poem about them. Nichola lead the ceremony with warmth and humour and the whole thing was just magical.
This is an amazing alternative for people who dont want a religious ceremony.
