What is your most memorable wedding?
Every ceremony that I have had the honour of being part of has had memorable elements. I can't pick just one! Highlights from various weddings have to be moments like the Bride walking down the aisle to the to the Jurrasic Park movie soundtrack, a groom surprising his Bride with vows written in song form and gorgeous ceremony settings like a barn and stunning hotel gardens.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Modern, warm, personable, enthusiastic and engaging.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I love that my business is inclusive and non judgemental. Whatever your wishes I will do everything I can to make your wedding ceremony exactly as you envisage it. I’ve worked with couples who want for traditional touches and some who want something totally new. The main thing is that it’s personalised to you and your other half and reflects exactly what you want.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Do your research. Chat to as many people/companies as you need to and never be afraid to ask questions.
Oh and I must add... enjoy your engagement!! So many couples forget that bit and it’s really important to make the most of it.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I think it’s incredible how creative people are. Anything and everything from floral archways to having your own hashtag. It’s your day, your way. I love seeing how people bring their big days together.
I’m a sucker for vows that have been written by the couple though, the intamicy and raw emotion it brings gives me goosebumps.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After initial contact via phone/email I love to meet up in person. Let’s have a coffee/or another beverage of choice... it’s up to you ;-) and chat about your dreams, hopes and wishes for your wedding ceremony. Then I go away and write a draft ceremony and I’ll keep writing until your happy. You can have as much input as you like and I’m always open to suggestions and feedback. Before the big day we will have as much contact as you wish on the phone/email/video call/text and if you’ve opted for one we will have a full rehearsal. For every step of the way I’m there and any questions you have I’m happy to answer. Let’s discuss your ceremony and make it personal and memorable for both of you.
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
For me it’s about communication. If you talk and work through everything then there’s no need to stress. If you pick me as your Celebrant I’ll be there to chat at any point and rest assured I’ll do anything and everything to make sure there are no ceremony stresses.
What do you love most about your job?
Book stuff early where you can. As a Celebrant I receive enquires all year round. Some couples book as early as two years in advance. That’s amazing as we then have tonnes of time to write a beautifully personalised ceremony just for you!
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
The vows! I love hearing the promises that are being made, and if you’ve added an element of your own vows then that’s the icing on the cake. The vows to me are what getting married is all about.
