Whether your big day is small and intimate, or a full-scale party, I can help create a personal ceremony that displays your love and commitment to each other while reflecting your personalities, values and beliefs. The words will be about you as a couple and the readings, vows and any symbolic ceremonies, such as the lighting of candles, hand fasting or tree planting, will be unique to you.
Using a celebrant means you are no longer restricted to using registered-only venues so your choice of wedding locations increases. You can get married pretty much anywhere - be it indoors or a wedding on the beach or on top of a mountain.
I am based in Cardiff and work across South and West Wales.
I believe in celebrating life’s events and milestones in ways that are unique and meaningful. What is your most memorable wedding?
Every one has been wonderful so far, but in terms of location the wedding I did for a lovely couple on top of Snowdon is a ceremony I'll never forget.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed, informal, warm, light-hearted, cheerful.
What is your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Try to enjoy yourselves and don't be afraid to go for exactly what you want.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After the initial contact, I meet with a couple to find out more about them and the type of wedding ceremony they have in mind. We put together an order of service which contains all the elements they'd like to have (such as being given away, exchanging rings and a symbolic ceremony like a unity candle or sand ceremony). I send them examples of poems and readings and can also help writing wedding vows. I write a draft version of the ceremony which I send to the couple for approval, and when we have it exactly as they'd like I make a final version which I deliver it on the day. I also help with 'choreographing' the wedding so everyone knows where they are standing, entering and leaving from at what time, and I arrive early at the venue to meet the family and help guests to their seats - anything to help make the day more relaxed and stress-free for the couple.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the fact that every wedding will be totally different and that I am able to help a couple create a ceremony that is a true reflection of them.
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
I love the symbolic ceremonies that people choose, whether it is a hand fasting, lighting a candle or planting a tree. It is in these moments that couples really express themselves and the love they have for one another. I'm also a romantic and always love the 'You may kiss your bride!' moment.
