Describe your typical process with a couple.
I always enjoy making each wedding personal and unique so I like to spend some time getting to know you to ensure the ceremony reflects your personalities, interests and beliefs As I write each ceremony from scratch it means we can tailor it exactly as you wish.
I think it is really important that the ceremony fits the atmosphere you want to create and is engaging and meaningful for everyone there.
My usual approach is to find out a bit about you, your ideas, relationship, personalities, feelings about marriage etc. and discuss various possibilities. I then produce an initial draft script. This usually prompts a few more thoughts and suggestions and we can work together to shape it into a final form. Once you are happy with everything I prepare a final script to use on the day. I have a large collection of vows and readings I can share with you and I can give you lots of examples regarding what you can do as well as tips regarding the layout and structure. Whatever you choose you to do you will have complete control over the content of the ceremony and it will be tailored to suit you. I have worked with many couples based abroad and successfully used email/skype/Pinterest to build up ideas. Often people send me a few photos too!
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
Not sure! Conducting a wedding on an island only accessible at certain times of the day, beginning a ceremony with a Nabuchadnezzar of champagne being opened with a sabre, orchestrating the closing of a ceremony with a surprise brass band, a festival style wedding in a bluebell wood, a cowboy/pirate themed wedding, bride and groom leaving the ceremony on a motorbike rather than walking up the aisle. Each wedding is unusual and wonderful in its own way.
