COVID-19 Update
I still offer, and continue to provide, my planning services throughout. Although obviously there are some venue specific planning aspects that have had to be put on hold. And to be honest I’m finding my clients are needing me more than ever to help navigate this awful situation while planning or postponing their wedding. I offer Planning Power Hours for £120, and it’s actually two hours’ worth for that money. They’ve been going down a storm in lockdown. The name is because it is usually around one hour of us on a video call together, and then one hour of me going away and doing planning work for you – and can include anything from budget estimates, to venue recommendations, venue specific advice, sample supplier quotes, décor sourcing, and décor and DIY how to’s. Thereafter, my planning time is charged at £95 per hour, and can be taken ad hoc or in blocks. My whole mission is that wedding planning should be bespoke, fun, and flexible.

Bespoke services, flexible help, pick + mix planning! Devine Bride is run by Laura Devine – hi! I’m a wedding planner based in East London and run a multi award winning blog as the backbone to my website offering planning tips and advice. My tag line is ‘pick + mix wedding planning’; couples can pick and choose which elements they need help with, and we’ll take it from there. I have personally planned and worked on some 170+ weddings and events to date, and I know what’s worked, what’s not, and what’s fun! From partial planning to planning power hours, help on the day to hire a bridesmaid, and everything in between! My speciality is difficult dry hire venues. I tend to help couples who know what they want and what they are doing, who are generally quite creative and non-traditional, but just need a hand to bring their vision to life, hone in on the finer details of the planning, and make it all happen on the day. Laura was absolutely fantastic in helping us with
Laura was absolutely fantastic in helping us with our invites. I wanted something personal but I'm not very creative. Laura took my limited ideas and hit the nail on the head! From the graphics to the wording, she had so many fantastic ideas that I would never have thought of myself. She made the whole process completely stress free and the comments from our guests have been amazing. Can't recommend Devine Bride enough!

She was amazing from beginning to end!
Tien, Vauxhall “I can’t recommend Laura enough. She was amazing from beginning to end! Super organized and meticulous – she made sure we had the best time ever on our wedding day. She’s very calm and relaxed – nothing fazes her! No question was too silly to ask and she made us feel at ease with everything. The lead up to and even after the wedding she helped us with great recommendations from furniture hire to the best place to print thank you cards. She’s an absolute pro and the loveliest person!”

if having a dry hire wedding then you need her
Esther, Bermondsey “Laura is divine, she is super organised with a real eye for detail and, importantly, she is super fun to have with you on the day. Laura really understood the relaxed party vibe we wanted for our wedding and used her endless skill set to help us achieve it. The day ran without hitch and also without anyone feeling marshalled about – a hard balance to achieve. We initially booked ‘on the day coordination’, but when faced with timeline issues we booked a ‘power hour’ session and on site recce. The output of this session was an extremely detailed document with multiple timeline options which really helped me plan the day Additionally, we met with Laura for a catch-up and chat a couple of weeks before the wedding to chat through the final and finer details. Following this meeting a detailed wedding brief was produced, which our suppliers were in admiration of, with one saying “I wish every bride had a Laura.” I cannot recommend Devine Bride highly enough, if you are having a dry hire wedding then you need Laura on your team.”

Laura was an absolute joy to work with!
Samantha, New Jersey, USA “Laura was an absolute joy to work with! While I thought I was hiring her for on the day coordination, she was so much more than that. I was planning a wedding overseas and quickly realized I needed a lot more help than previously thought. Her pick and mix style is the bees knees and provided us the flexibility to pick exactly the right amount of support we needed. Laura was always quick to reply for any questions that we had and able to provide great recommendations that fit within our budget. Her on the day coordination was spot on and took care of our every need. We did not have to stress about the timeline of the day because she made sure we were always in contact, as well as having a face to face meeting before hand to review the incredibly detailed timeline that she laid out. Our day came together seamlessly because of Laura and I cannot recommend her enough!!”

What is your most memorable wedding?

I'm always wowed with client’s ideas for table plans, I did a vine one once for a wine themed wedding, but I was also did a wedding once where the table plan was all of the couple's favourite gins! It was also hand drawn by the groom’s sister - it was awesome. At my own wedding, we had photos of us both as kids on the toilet doors and I mocked up signs saying 'Little Boys Room' and 'Little Girls Room'... A client then asked me to replicate that with her mum’s dogs who she'd dressed up as a bride and groom!!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Don't be afraid to ask for help, whether that be from a friend or family member, or a wedding planner. It's the most magical time so make sure you ask for help when you need it so you can actually enjoy it!

What about your business are you most proud of?

Seeing the happiness (and relief!) on the new married couples face when they are announced as married, and then cheering them on down the aisle.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

I offer pick and mix wedding planning and my services are completely bespoke, so it varies depending on what the client wants/needs. Typically, they'll get in touch, then we'll either meet up in person for a drink or do a quick hello on skype. Then I'll send them a proposal, and if they're happy I'll send them a contract and an invoice for a 25% deposit. Everything is taken a step at a time and we tweak the process until they are happy - and I’m with them every step of the way.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Fun, contemporary, unique, easy-going, creative.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

As a wedding planner, nothing is off bounds! The most important thing is that the wedding is amazing... I've been asked everything from sourcing a specific pair of socks for the groom to arranging to take a granny home!

What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?

They are all my favourites! But dry hire weddings are great because they are completely bespoke to the couple; I love weddings where the couple have little personal details woven throughout their day to represent their union. I just love love and making people happy!

How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?

Quite simply, all the amazing weddings I've done. Each one has been completely different and completely amazing in their own way.

What do you love most about your job?

Ultimately, it’s all about making people happy – and I love that. There's no better feeling than seeing someone happy on their wedding day and knowing you've contributed to that.

What is your favourite moment at a wedding?

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Prepare prepare prepare. Solid, constant, fluid communication is also key.
