The internet is full of wedding speech templates and cut-and-paste jokes. We are proud to use none of them. Every wedding speech we write starts with a blank piece of paper and is based entirely on information you provide (face-to-face, over the phone or via email). We are also delighted to give our feedback on a speech you have already written, and happy to edit it as required. A generation ago, the speeches at a typical wedding were often restricted to the groom and a friend of the bride’s family (often a Godfather). Now, the father of the bride, groom and best man will almost always speak, and there may be more! The wedding speeches we write most regularly are listed below. Please do contact us if you are stuck, or in need of someone to take the strain. What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Our #1 speech writing tip is - BE RELEVANT!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A truly personal, original, funny, touching speech - (written by us, of course!).
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Some clients call us for a chat and then we arrange to meet them and run through an 'interview' before writing a draft. Others send us huge amounts of information in answer to questions we email them. Others send us a draft speech they have written for review. Every speech is different, so we do as much (or as little) as the speaker requires and quote for it in advance of work taking place.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
A eulogy for the living!
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
Prepare, write, re-write, rehearse, rehearse again.
What do you love most about your job?
Meeting people and writing original speeches that leave guests telling our clients "that was the best speech I've ever heard"
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
The start of the speeches!
