Describe your typical process with a couple.
Initially I think it's important to meet a bride, her groom too if he wants to be involved, and of course ideally her family. We chat and discuss their ideas and I throw more thoughts into the pot. Following this I write with a proposal and a spreadsheet of possible costs, following which I ask the client to sign my Terms of Business indicating that they wish me to start work for them on their event.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
Flying beer in from Germany.
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
A good wedding planner will not divulge exactly what may be going on behind the scenes - she is like a swan paddling away below the surface of the water, but cool, calm and collected on the exterior. That's what I like to think I am like at my events.
What do you love most about your job?
Meeting people and building a rapport.
What is your favourite moment at a wedding?
The first dance!
