Occasion Queens is here to take all the stress out of your special occasion. ​ No matter what the celebration is, whatever your style may be, we want to give you the support you need on the day to ensure that everything looks and goes exactly as you dreamed it would. ​ Occasion Queens knows how much work goes into planning a special occasion. There is nothing worse than feeling overwhelmed by the amount of work you have to do on the day, as well as get yourself ready. This is exactly how Nina felt on the lead up to her wedding. She had put her heart into making sure the day would look perfect, but there was no way she would be able to pull the decor together in the morning and get ready, without some help. Nina has been running events both professionally and personally for nearly 15 years. She believes your special occasion should be memorable for all the right reasons. We're here to ensure that everything looks exactly as you dreamed it would, without the need to rely on friends or family. Occasion Queens was born to provide an on the day set up and coordination service to anyone that is planning a special celebration.

She must be a wizard or something
I can’t even think of the words to describe how bloomin’ happy we are that we chose Occasion Queens. We knew from the start we were going to be a tough gig and challenge our suppliers: we had so many moving parts and 3(!) venues. Nothing we chose was easy but Nina managed it all seemingly effortlessly. Just knowing she was there, taking care of it, was so reassuring. On the day, I’m sure she handled a thousand things that we didn’t see, but the ones we did left us feeling so grateful. We knew we didn’t have to worry about anything and we could enjoy our day. The simple things were the biggest for us: not have to worry about timings, as Nina had it all under control - everything from when to get on the buses, to a ‘call to sit’ for dinner. Looking back, I honestly can’t imagine how we would have done any of these transitions without her. We were able to spend our day floating around just enjoying the day we had put together. Nina knew that we had put so much of ourselves into the wedding and her brilliant experience meant she recognised it was going to be difficult for us to let go and let it happen on the day. And she was right! But she helped us so much with this and gave us the opportunity to relax, have fun and enjoy our day (which we definitely did!) Nina put together an impressive (and absolutely lovely) team of freelancers and was, amazingly, handling another wedding on the same day. How she did it all? Absolutely no idea - She must be a wizard or something. But we couldn’t recommend this wizard highly enough.

From the first moment I met Nina I understood that she had it all figured out, super nice, friendly and really organised. Having someone who can professionally make sure your venue is perfect too for your special day, makes a huge difference. I was so relaxed and happy it was not on me on the day. I cannot recommend Occasion Queens enough.

Booking OQ was the best decision we made!
Nina was the linchpin of our wedding day. From the first email she was on the ball and left me in no doubt that she understood exactly what we needed. On prep calls, she gave great advice to help us ensure things went smoothly. On the day, she was totally discreet and yet always there when we needed her. And, she made a major problem with another supplier totally invisible to our guests, re-engineering the day seamlessly so we had nothing to worry about. Booking OQ was the best decision we made!

We love these ladies.
We love these ladies. Having our wedding in a dry hire, we had to be pretty organised but we’re not Monica-with-a-headset organised (reference for the kids there…). Thankfully Nina, queen of the clipboard and spreadsheet, is. Just without the shouting. We never knew how much we needed a wedding planner until we chatted with Nina. Nina gave us some great ideas with her inspiration session and helped us nail down the planning, particularly the all important timings. On the day itself, another event meant she didn’t get to see the fruits of her labour but she left us in the safest of hands with the amazing Ashleigh. So groom, best man and a van stuffed with bits turned up to an empty space at 9am, wedding in T-minus six hours. Ashleigh and Clarice worked like troopers alongside caterer and suppliers to transform the room into our dream wedding, including running up and down a ladder to help us hang a massive neon sign! Ashleigh was on hand all day, her enthusiasm helping it all run so smoothly, and nothing was too much trouble - need some scissors to cut a label off a glittery headband? No worries, Ashleigh’s got it. And she was still there to pack it all down again at 2am as we drunkenly bounced off into the night. Did we say we love these ladies? We cannot recommend them highly enough. We need to find an excuse to throw another bash so we can work with them again!

What is your most memorable wedding?

My own! No, probably one that was in a pub and we worked with such amazing suppliers that it all came together so perfectly - it just looked incredible!

That we are totally unique and started out of a genuine desire to take the stress away from your day.

What about your business are you most proud of?

We go by your style.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

We don't always get to see the day through but if we are lucky enough to then I would say the beginning of the drinks reception where you can see ridiculously huge smiles on the couples face now that they are actually married.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Getting to know our couples, it makes everything on the day so worth it knowing that you are a small cog in creating something so special for them.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Ooh that's tough! The grooms granddad's lighter (who had sadly passed away) was part of the display for a cigar bar. It's the small details that are truly personal to the couple that are my fav as they mean the most.

What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?

Start with an inspiration session to get to know you, your style and bring great suggestions and suppliers to the table. Leave you to it! Always in the background for a helping hand. Get together nearer the time and discuss your day in detail. Come in on the day and doing everything from setting it up exactly as asked to full coordination, depending on what you need on the day.

How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?

Handing out tambourines to guests as they leave the ceremony venue and walk with a brass band to the reception venue in the city of London! Absolutely brilliant!
