Without a doubt the long term lasting friendships the wedding industry has afforded me, not just the bride and groom but their families also. What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
To plan a wedding event in 2 days. Managed to pull it off by working around the clock, all because we knew the right suppliers to get the job done efficiently and creatively - it was a huge success, and also showed that commitment, tenacity and perseverance can achieve many things!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I've been doing weddings since 1995, and was one of the first that catered to the Indian market in the UK all those years ago. I have to admit that all the weddings I have hosted have a significant place in my heart because each one of them was individual and the relationships created were lasting friendships. Each one, even today, feels like it was yesterday when i set an reminisce of the occasion. All weddings for me have been memorable because each one of them was personalised and unique in what it was. I've done both large and small weddings and high-end budgets to average budgets in my journey - each one is memorable!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We are big on personalisation so many ideas to share - it's all about individual taste and budget planning
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
Seeing happy and emotional bonding moments!
How do you ensure a stress-free wedding?
I strongly believe it's in the pre-planning of how stress-free an event can go. If the right questions and contingencies are prepared there's no reason why it should be a stressful occasion. I love weddings, and whatever problems occur, i handle them gracefully and nothing is ever too much trouble.
What do you love most about your job?
Finalise your approximate numbers before you start on anything else, and appoint yourself a wedding planner you trust and can build a healthy relationship with. After all, this is the person you will be communicating with the most over several months of planning your special occasion.
