- I set up The Ceremony Company in 2013, having previously worked as a Local Government Registrar and Celebrant for 9 years. I believe couples and families should have a choice of ceremony for their special day. I had listened to what is important to couples during my 9 years with the Registration Service. Most wanted to meet and choose their celebrant. Lots of couples requested a rehearsal. They also wanted to include vows, promises, music and readings which they had always wanted whether they are religious, semi religious, traditional, alternative or funny. As most couples work and couldn't make midweek 9-5 appointments - so the Ceremony Company was created to include all the above. Whether you live here in the UK or abroad we arrange a mutually convenient date and time to meet you, either face to face or via video link, it is important to listen to all your ideas and to see if we are the right fit for your special day. If you then wish to book, we ask for a deposit to secure your date and celebrant, then we guide you through the process making sure you have a relaxed and memorable day. What is important to you is important to each one of our celebrants. Your ceremony can have any content whether it remain traditional or be something different like a Handfasting, Memory Box, Unity Candle, Sand, Flower Bouquet, Blessing style ceremony. We never take a booking without having met you either in person or via video call - we encourage you to share all your ideas, ones that you have dreamed of for your big day. We make sure we are available in person up to an hour before your ceremony, your ceremony can be held on any date at absolutely any venue (indoors or outdoors) and any time. We only book one ceremony per celebrant - so if there are any unforeseen time changes these can be easily accommodated. We present you with a keepsake commemorative certificate which can be signed as part of your day. Please get in touch to arrange a no obligation meeting.

Describe your typical process with a couple.
Always respond to enquiries quickly and set out clearly the process, arrange a free no obligation meeting whether it is in person or via video call, then if the couple wish to proceed a deposit confirms their booking and a first draft ceremony is sent. This is then a work in progress until a final draft is agreed upon. A rehearsal or meeting during the week before the wedding ceremony. On the day, we arrive up to an hour before their chosen time, so that they have a relaxed, enjoyable and fun experience.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve been asked to plan?
A ceremony which included a flower bouquet being made by guests bringing flowers forward and then the maid of honour creating a bouquet which was handed to the bride. It was lovely as I described the meaning of each flower being presented. It was a lovely idea.
