Circa Events prides itself on offering our clients a flexible approach to their Wedding Breakfast, whether that be a Four-Course Dining Experience with delicate canapes, or a 'Family Share' BBQ served on boards with colourful salads in bowls. Our menu will give you a few suggestions on menu for the day, starting with our delightful canapes, your main wedding menu, indulgent desserts followed by our quirky options for evening food. Maybe you are considering something a little different, featuring sharing boards for guests to tuck into on each table, or you want a fine dining experience with Michelin inspired dishes; our Head Chef will work with you both to create something wonderful that you and your guests will be talking about for many years to come. All our ingredients are sourced from the very best Sussex Butchers, Cheese makers and Farmers - in fact our Kitchen is on a farm just outside Brighton! We're known for being a little quirky and creative in our menus, from Asian influences on our Scotch Egg dish, to our original Wood-fired Pizza Van, we'll offer a range of options to best suit your tastes and ideas for your event. Our team led by our Executive Chef Justin Gilham has a wealth of experience working closely with clients on weddings; The Circa Management team have been delivering well run and expertly planned events for years. Circa catered for our wedding and were absolutely superb. We felt very looked after as did all of our guests. We had so many compliments on the food, especially the katsu curry! All of the food was delicious - they really catered for all. The bar service was excellent as well! They were so organised and helpful, without seeming intrusive on the night. They played a huge part in making a really special evening for us, one that we’ll never forget! Thank you!

Our Daughter selected Circa for her wedding at our home, she chose them not only because their food was tasty and beautifully presented, but also as they would "stage manage" the day. Sure enough Ben and his team cooked up a fabulous selection of food from Canapes through the main meal via an Ice cream bike and on to evening food from the converted Horse Box, all the waiting & Bar staff were delightful and accommodating and the whole day was run like clockwork without any hitches

Venue of Dreams
Me & my new husband got married at Laughton barns on 01/07/23. From the moment we booked the barn back in ‘October 21’ Sara & the rest of the team have had great communication in making sure everything comes together and we get all the information we need right up until the few days before the wedding. The venue itself is just a dream and there’s so much outside space to make use off! The food is absolutely outstanding and our guests commented so much on how the food was so amazing and the great portion sizes! Katy & Sean deserve a special mention too for being great when we turned up to set the venue up on the Friday, they went above a beyond to make sure it was how we wanted it to be, also on the day of the wedding they still went above and beyond to make sure we was both looked after very well, checking in on us regularly and making sure everything run smoothly! So all I want to say is one big massive thank you to Sara, Liv, the catering team, Sean, Katy & everyone else at circa! Our day wouldn’t have been the way it was without these guys

A Huge Thank You
We cannot thank everyone at Circa enough for everything on and in the build up to our wedding day. We had the most perfect day and everything ran so smoothly with the help of you all. Thank you Liv for everything on the day and huge thank you for helping save our cake from melting in the hot weather and keeping it in a fridge so we could cut it with our evening guests there too. The food was gorgeous and we’ve had so many great comments about it since our day. The bbq and pizzas were a huge hit with our guests and we loved having the leftover pizza the next day. Everyone in the team who worked on our day were so friendly and helpful, especially making sure we had our canapés kept aside for after our photos. It was lovely seeing some of you at the open days and then on our day so we had friendly faces around.

What is your most memorable wedding?

We catered and managed an incredible 'fair' inspired wedding in a field in east sussex, complete with coconut shys, hoopla and hook-a-ducks, on one of the hottest days of the year! Menu-wise they went for a picnic on each table, with baskets, all the chutneys & pickles you can imagine and huge wedges of cheese, followed by a build your own eton-mess station with colourful meringues! Great fun had by all and so much personality in each element of their day.

Our personal, friendly and creative approach to wedding food, we're all so proud to be part of Circa!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Personalise elements of the food and drinks for that extra something - make the food and drinks memorable!

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I love it when couples make their own favours for guests, be it homemade gin or jam - people do take them with them if they are personally made!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

From the first email, we'll strive to understand a clients vision for the day. Some couples like the look of our set menus, some want something a little more bespoke for the day, we'll create menus at this stage and do a rough quote based on guest numbers and food/drink choices. In the year of the wedding itself, we'll hold a tasting for our couples (complimentary once booked) so they can choose their options for the day, we'll start planning timings at this stage and over the following months bring together all the plans for the day. If its a marquee or a rural venue we'll do a site visit if we can, and we'll always be at the venue the day before to set up. On the event day we'll be at the venue at least 2 hours before guests arrive and we'll run the day using all the plans we've made over the last few months!

What is the most innovative dish you have created for a wedding?

This year we had a wedding with a Maltese Bride & Sri Lankan Groom who wanted to fuse the two heritages in their wedding food. So we worked closely with them and created them a completely bespoke menu including Maltese Canapes & Sri Lankan Curries. One of the curries was the Groom's Grandmother's recipe which was super special! Especially as she was unable to make it over for the wedding!

What is the food of love?

Got to be Pizza - From our Wood Fired Pizza Oven. Perfect for the evening of a Wedding!
