What is your most memorable wedding?
My own! My attention to detail makes me perfect for what I do. My wedding was a winter one in December and we kept it very natural with autumn type colours.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Vintage, retro, natural, non-conforming, individual
What about your business are you most proud of?
My relationships with my clients. I never see people as a number, they are individuals that deserve to be treated as such. I make sure I know exactly what my clients want and we work together. My clients come back to me time and again.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Do it your way and don't be swayed by anyone, this is your day and no one knows you better than you know yourself.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Home-made biscuits made by a bride, play lists made by the couple with meaning behind them and flowers kept in a bath by a bride before lovingly arranging them all herself in huge milk jugs - gorgeous.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
For jewellery, the couple or one partner are very welcome to come to the studio but if time or distance are an issue we can liaise by telephone or email. I am completely flexible. We design a piece together but if a partner feels pressured and would prefer me to handle to process then that is absolutely fine too.
With regards to the life casting, a visit to the studio is necessary as I need the body part. I am very flexible with appointments so a simple chat on the telephone and we can arrange a mutually good time.
What are your favourite wedding traditions for rings?
I love all of the ideas behind wedding rings; from the Egyptian use of a circle going on forever through to the use of various stones and their meanings. I love the Egyptians using the ring finger as there was said to run a vein straight to the heart from there.
What is the most romantic engraving you have seen on a wedding ring?
I like dates on wedding rings, it always helps years down the line when a date is forgotten. There shouldn't be any forgotten anniversaries!
Which ring do you think holds most significance for a bride?
The wedding ring, it is a promise. The engagement ring is wonderful, that feeling of having a ring where there wasn't one before is so exciting.
What is your favourite proposal story?
Every proposal story is magical. Whether it is at a huge landmark, in the back of the car or while shopping it doesn't matter. That is just a single piecee in the book of marriage, the best is still yet to come.
