What is your most memorable wedding?
A few months ago I worked with a lovely couple who were getting married in Lulworth Castle and wanted some very special invitations and stationery. We designed the most fabulous invitations for them - a pearlescent ivory diecut wallet which contained their invitation, insert sheets and reply card tucked underneath a sheet of glitter vellum. For their place cards we designed a 'cootie catcher' game which their guests had great fun with, and their Order of the Day booklet was in the form of a flip book which included pictures of the wedding party as characters from South Park! There were lots of other unusual ideas which made the day very special for them!
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am very proud of the fact that we meet with couples so we can get to know them and offer a personalised service that you cannot get when buying from the internet.
What is your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Most important - get yourselves organised! Make lists of your guests and find out their addresses in plenty of time before you order your invitations.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
The nicest weddings I have been involved in are for those couples who show their own personalities and interests - I will never forget the couple whose two passions were Disney (the Bride) and Doctor Who (the Groom). We were able to create a whole wedding collection incorporating their two passions!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We like to work with couples who live locally to us, and at out first meeting we chat about themselves, the wedding, what they would like to achieve, and the budget they have to spend. We will then produce ideas and samples, and go from there!
What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?
The save the date card or invitation is the first thing that guests will see, so the wow factor is important!
What is your best seller?
Six years ago we designed a special pocketfold invitation for one of our couples which has gone on to be the most popular style we have ever done!
