What is your most memorable wedding?
Most memorable has to be when I was asked to incorporate a pug onto some invitations. the couple wanted him in a wedding dress too, so my photoshop skills were put to the test! I had so much fun doing it and they loved the end result.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Creative, alternative, contemporary, stylish, quality.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I won the 2016 and 2017 Dorset Wedding Awards 2 years in a row and was a finalists for the Wedding Industry Awards 2017.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Be yourselves and have your wedding, your way. Add your personalities into it to make a really memorable day.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I'm a real dog lover and a sucker for a dog at a wedding. One of our recent couples flew their dog out to the Czech Republic to be at their wedding. He had the most gorgeous floral necklace and looked super cute!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Initial communication is typically by email, gathering information for a quote. If it's a bespoke order I would ask for examples of what the couple likes. If the couple is local we will sometimes arrange a face to face meeting, to discuss design and show samples. Or if the couple is further away I will offer to arrange a phone meeting and post any samples if necessary. Once everything is agreed I will send a booking form and an invoice, at that stage 50% of the invoice is required to start the design process. I normally send first proofs within 2/3 days and clients can amend where necessary. Once they are happy with the design and give sign off, the remaining 50% of the invoice will be due and I can then send everything to print. All items, apart from pocketfold invitations, will come direct from the printer to the couple, which cuts down on cost and reduces our carbon footprint.
What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?
The most important piece has to be the invitations! Without which, no one would know the details. They are also the first impression people have of your day and gives a hint to the style and theme of what's to come.
What is your best seller?
Invitations are my best seller, in a self assemble set. It's a very cost effective way to include all the extra's you need and is tied together with a lovely printed band. Vellum bands are also available for that extra special touch.
How do you add romance to any wedding stationery you do?
With every invitation order, couples can have their very own monogram logo which can feature in various places. This can then be added to all the 'on the day' stationery items to tie it all together and adds a personal touch.
