What is your most memorable wedding?
My most memorable wedding is my own! We held our wedding in the lovely Peak District just before Christmas. I planned for every weather eventuality, I had a wedding coat, wedding wellies, a special Bride umbrella, and a snow plan! But, on the morning of our wedding, my future husband and I stood at our venue, in complete amazement, staring at the beautiful view bathed in SUNSHINE! That moment will never leave me - it was the perfect start to the best day.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Simple, Colourful, Vintage, Quirky and Sparkly!
What about your business are you most proud of?
Hearing back from couples after they have received their orders makes me super proud, some days I can hear the squeals of joy through their emails!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make sure that your wedding reflects you both, that's it is your style. Don't be too drawn into the 'trends' or 'fashions', or what everyone else tells you to like. Stay true to your own dream.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Christmas ornaments as favours - every year I see these proudly hung onto my families Christmas trees and we all remember that brilliant day together.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Many couples who contact us like to send photographs or pinterest links to ideas that they have. This is FABULOUS! it really helps to develop the idea of the wedding style of the couple. We like to discuss your venue, bridesmaid dresses and flowers to get an idea of colours etc.
After a series of emails we will then put together some proof ideas for the couple, with PDF's and photos. We work together to make any tweaks or changes, then post out final proofs. Once everyone is happy with the designs and colours, we will hand make the stationery, keeping the couple up to date on the status of their order. Everything is packed into our beautiful 'Something Blue' packaging and carefully shipped to the couple.
What is the most important piece of stationery for a wedding and why?
We like to turn our stationery into keepsakes for our couples - how about adding magnets to your Save the Dates so that it is seen everyday by your guest, or using natural pine cones as place cards for your autumn wedding so that your guest will use these again at Christmas?
What is your best seller?
By far, our best seller is our Rose suite of stationery, particularly the Reserved Seat Tags for the Ceremony. The beautiful paper roses are so pretty and perfect for summer weddings.
