We had our special day Saturday 30/12/23 it was magical nothing was to much bother for wedding staff they were all amazing and friendly especially Laura & Dan Just wish we could do it all over again ❤️

From arranging our first look at the venue until our wedding day Laura has been amazing, giving us indepth information and answering any questions we had. On our wedding day Dan and the team were incredible. All of our guests were very impressed with the venue, food, drinks and service from all of Blackfriars staff. We could not have asked for more for our wedding! Absolutely perfect. Our guests said they cannot wait to return to Blackfriars and my new husband and I will be reserving a table very soon. The canapés and wedding breakfast was exceptional and we could not fault the drinks and the selection on offer.

The banqueting hall at Blackfriars is a fantastic venue if you’re after something really special for your wedding. We had a truly wonderful day. Coupled with the historic building and the simply amazing food on offer prepared by really talented chefs everything was exceptional. Great staff great food and a great location.

We got married in Blackfriars in Sept 23 and it was perfect in every way. The venue is outstanding, very atmospheric, beautiful and a little bit different to all the other venues we had seen. Being in the centre of Newcastle made logistics so easy for the many people who travelled, but yet it felt like we were in our own world for the day. But it isn’t just the most beautiful venue you get, you also get: Amazing Food- if you have ever eaten at the restaurant you will know that the wedding menu is going to be something very special. Guests are still talking about it today, the choices offered met all types of dietary requirements and all courses were delicious. This isn’t your normal ‘chicken breast and a bit of veg’ menu to accommodate large numbers, this was what you would expect to eat at the best restaurant in town. We opted for the 5 course menu, there is a lot of food so don’t eat too much before you sit down as you don’t want to miss out on culinary delights that are served to you from the best chefs around. Best wedding planners - most couples find planning their wedding stressful, it is after all expected to be the best day of your life so the pressure is on! But I can truthfully say that Laura Race made the process of planning so easy and definitely not stressful at all. My endless questions were answered immediately, she is outstanding at her job and one of the kindest people you could meet and she led us through the process confidently and patiently. When we found out she would be on holiday on our wedding day I have to be honest, I panicked a little, I couldn’t imagine that the day would be as good without her organisation. But along came Daniel and Dan, who were equally as brilliant and with the wider team, gave us a wedding day that even exceeded our expectations. Everything was managed perfectly so we could just enjoy the day from start to finish with no stress at all. We have so many of our guests telling us it’s the best wedding they’ve been to and it’s certainly the best wedding we have been to (we may be slightly biased though!?). But I can wholeheartedly recommend Blackfriars for your wedding, you will not be disappointed, you get so much for your money but most importantly, the memories you leave with are priceless.

Blackfriars Restaurant was the perfect Venue for our small and intimate ceremony. The surroundings are beautiful, the staff were fantastic and the food was amazing, thank you to everyone at Blackfriars’s for helping to make our day special.

Blackfriars is an absolute hidden gem for weddings! We had the best day here for our wedding. Laura, Daniel and the entire team were absolutely amazing throughout the planning process, supporting us with everything we needed and accommodating every and all requests. During the day they looked after us amazingly well, nothing was too much to ask and we had the absolute best time. In general, the setting is fantastic, beautifully medieval and great for photos, the team is amazing, the food (oh the gorgeous food!) was a hit with our friends and families and finally everyone loved having a dance with live music in the evening. We couldn't recommend Blackfriars highly enough for a wedding day, they absolutely made ours magical :) Thank you so much!
