A hidden gem in Cumbria From the bar & kitchen staff, to the waiting on staff, to Anouska our brilliant wedding co-ordinator and the reception team the attention to detail, friendliness and helpfulness, the quality/presentation of the food, catering so efficiently for dietary needs from Kosher to Diabetics to an allergy to coriander, the room décor; even the fancy toilet paper – all was commented on by our guests as out of this world. The small touches mattered, and you went the extra mile in every way - I must mention staff supporting guests with dementia without being asked, booking taxis for visually impaired guests while serving a packed bar without any delay or complaint shows superb customer service. Our 130 guests have unanimously praised you and appreciated the challenging work and hours of planning/meetings/ prep that went in to make this day “a blast” and "the best wedding they have ever been to". The way the staff introduced themselves to the tables they were assigned to and looked after their "guests" was highly impressive. Everyone felt special and every need was catered for. At very short notice we moved the speeches from before the meal to afterwards - it didn't delay the meal service at all. I was amazed and delighted! As a bride, from the first time you greeted us with bottomless jugs of coffee and gave us as much time as we needed to scrutinse you (!) I knew that that The Roundthorn was a hidden gem. Your wedding packages are flexible, inclusive, easy to understand and excellent value - you worked with us within our budget to give us the best day and night possible. Every penny we spent with you was money well spent. Accomodation : check in for guests travelling from Bristol/London - you organised early check ins and ensured the rooms were ready. The rooms (everywhere in fact) was spotlessly clean with beautiful decor. Keep doing what you are doing guys. There are very few venues and teams like yours . Anouska and her team were absolutely fabulous from booking our day right through to the day of our wedding. Nothing was too much and we felt entirely supported throughout the planning process and on the day. The service on the day was exception and I would urge other brides to consider this venue. It was beautiful and the staff are just fabulous.

I got married here in April 2022 after postponing due to covid. The minute you walk in, you immediately feel like part of the family. The staff went above and beyond and nothing was too trouble. They were so accommodating when we had to postpone and held my hand throughout the entire process. Thank you for making our wedding so incredible.

My dream wedding, was a reality thanks to Roundthorn. Breathtakingly beautiful venue and grounds, the food was simply divine and the service to match. The entire day was a dream come true, which was a huge thanks to Siobhan.. I walked into roundthorn to view the venue, burst into tears and cancelled any other viewings as I knew this is where I wanted and I was so right.. The whole team bent over backwards to make our dream day come true.. Anyone even tempted to book roundthorn for their wedding venue, all you need to do is walk into the place and you will have made your mind up.. Thank you so much to you all.
