Full Description
Alton Castle is a grade 2* listed neo-Gothic building built in 1847 and designed by A W Pugin, who also designed the Houses of Parliment. It is a magnificent venue for "weekend wedding" receptions and is exclusively hired to you from 4pm Friday until 4pm Sunday. As the castle is set within the beautiful Churnet Valley, it offers the perfect backdrop for photographs and can be decorated bespoke to you. The Banqueting Hall, with its stained glass windows and rib vaulted ceiling, can seat up to 90 for a silver service meal and can accommodate up to 200 guests for the evening reception. There are two other large function rooms along with an impressive lawn at the front of the castle, all ideal for greeting your guests with pre-dinner drinks. Within the package, your guests can enjoy overnight accommodation in our dormitories which sleep up to 95, giving them the experience of staying in a castle for the weekend.

One of the comments from a bride and groom 'If you are considering Alton Castle for your wedding, we really couldn't recommend it highly enough, it holds a very special place in our hearts and I can think of nowhere to match it, for beauty, space, flexibility and facilities. We can honestly say from experience that nothing can compare to being able to host all your guests in such wonderful surroundings and sharing the most magical of weekends with your family and friends.
