Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
Every wedding is so special and unique, so we don't have a best wedding to share. We love getting to know our couples and it's such a privilege to be part of their special day.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Relax and enjoy your special day, try and be present as it will be over so quickly and you will want to remember every precious moment.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We had doves released at a recent wedding, that was pretty special!
Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.
Unique * heritage * castle (although not strictly speaking a castle!) * spectacular * charming
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our Harry Potter staircase! The staircase in the Grand Hall was the inspiration behind the moveable staircase in the Harry Potter movies!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
We often have high profile guests at Ashridge House, we are always very discreet though!
What’s your favourite canapé?
Hard to choose as our chefs are so talented, Salmon tempura with wasabi and lime mayonnaise is one of our favourites though!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Left over wedding cake! Yum!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The site dates back to 1283, when it was a monastery founded by Edmund, Earl of Cornwall, in 1539 Ashridge became a royal residence to King Henry VIII and his children. The young Princess Elizabeth I lived at Ashridge, until she was arrested and sent to the Tower of London!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Ashridge is a truly unique and beautiful venue, it is very special and unlike any hotel or other venue, with its own heritage and charm.
