The positives : the venue is beautiful and the staff on the day could not have worked harder to make our day special, which indeed it was a wonderful day - so they deserve our full thanks and acknowledgement The negatives : pretty much every aspect in the lead up to the wedding throughout the planning process was dire. We booked exclusive use so that we would have suites in place the night before and from the morning first thing for a relaxed getting ready experience and for our guests travelling from overseas. This was one of our most important criteria when booking so we ensured this was officially written into our contract. The venue booked another exclusive event the night before our wedding (after we had signed our contract). They didn't realise until after we spotted an issue, but by this point it was also too late for us to find an alternative - which completely changed the preparation and build up to the day. Our legal advice was that they were undoubtedly in breach of contract, yet we had to fight tooth and nail for very minimal accommodations to make up for this error. - they booked us an alternate hotel nearby the night before but the standard of the hotel was not remotely comparable, when we tried to check in we had to wait in reception for over an hour as the room hadn't been paid for and no one was available from barnett hill - unprofessional and disorganised - we scheduled well in advance all our planning meetings to be in person at agreed dates as we have very busy and demanding jobs. All were rescheduled at late notice to phone calls which is very challenging and not as useful compared to being in the venue - we had to micromanage venue for repeated mistakes - eg not posting deposit payments we had made and challenging whether these had happened (they had, and we had the transaction and statement evidence to back it up), incorrectly logging food allergy / dietary requirements which could be very dangerous for our guests - trying to apply additional charges to guests directly, contrary to what we had agreed All in all, a lot of management turnover and very questionable competency levels in the sales / planning / management teams - so proceed with caution, try make sure your contracts are watertight with everything you want if you do go ahead - but that didn't help us as the cost of addressing their breach of contract didn't offset the value of the contract and we didn't have time to go elsewhere. Balanced against a stunning venue and staff on the day who did their best to deliver for us

I cannot thank Barnett Hill enough for making our wedding day dreams come true. Having had to move our date 4 times due to covid, Ashleigh, Hazel and the team were on hand every step of the way to make our day absolutely perfect. I would 100% recommend.

THE BEST WEDDING AT AT THE BEST VENUE! I got married at Barnett Hill on 27.08.21 and it was just perfect, thanks to all the staff who couldn’t done enough for us and our guests! A special thank you to Hazel Neville & her team & Julien Mallardeau! Hazel & her team were amazing during the preparation and planing of our wedding. Great communication & very thorough! Julien was a great support during the morning of the wedding and during the actual wedding. He was reassuring, he was always around whenever we needed him and made sure the day went as smooth as possible and it did, it was perfect! The venue itself is honestly so beautiful, it’s a very calming and peaceful environment. Would highly recommend, not just for a wedding but also for a general stay. We will be coming back every year to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you Barnett Hill x

We chose Barnett Hill Hotel for our wedding lunch. The venue is stunning inside and outside and enjoyed by both adult and younger guests. Eleanor and her team were very helpful and accommodating of our requests and also a real pleasure to deal with throughout the process. All was organised perfectly and as planned, the canapes and lunch (Surrey Hills Menu) were delicious, and we were very well looked after by Julian on the day. We will be visiting again and again.

Recently had my dream wedding here. Couldn't have asked for a better venue. Everything was perfect- from the friendly staff, to the beautiful gardens and immaculate rooms. Holly, our wedding co-ordinator was also a superstar, who helped me from day 1, and was so patient and always got back to my many questions immediately. Many friends commented what a beautiful venue it was. I highly recommend it to anyone thinking to host a wedding here. Thank you to all at Barnett Hill

We would just like to pass on our immense gratitude to all of your staff for making our wedding on the 10th August the most magical day. Everyone we interacted with from the planning process to the day itself has been truly wonderful. A key member of staff that I'd like to personally thank is Ashleigh Lowin. Although Ashleigh only took over our account after Gemma left she instantly made us feel so much more confident with the planning of our day. She was quick to reply to all of our emails and our pre-wedding meetings were a delight. She advised us throughout the entire daunting planning process and ensured that she personalised the day to suit us. Although we did not meet any of the catering staff we would also like to extend our gratitude to them as I imagine they often get forgotten about. Mass catering can be a bit hit or miss sometimes but your team have cracked it. Everyone was raving about the chicken saying it was beautifully moist and that the sauce was a brilliant addition to otherwise standard gravy. Going around and speaking to people it was noticeable the clean plates that were left after every course. If we were to go back in time and replan our wedding day then I would have absolutely no doubts that we would rebook your wonderful venue again. Although the venue itself is absolutely stunning, it was your staff that made our wedding the day it was.
