Burn Hall hotel

Rooms- Lovely clean rooms, as it was our wedding we had a suite, the hotel booked it for 2 nights for me and it was great to be able to have guests visit into the lounge area, while keeping the privacy of the bedroom, and my wedding dress out of sight. The bathroom lighting style made the room a little dark, but this was only a minor issue for us. Restaurant- The food was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. We had 5-8 meals at the hotel including our taster menu, pizzas at meetings, afternoon teas, evening meal prior to the wedding and the wedding breakfast, and so many of our guests complimented the food and menu choices. Sometimes when you are delivering catering on a large scale the quality gets lost, but at Burn Hall this certainly is not the case. We would absolutely go back for a meal again when in the area. Function Room- we were lucky that the room wasn't in use the day before so were able to set everything up ourselves, however the staff were always on hand should we require assistance. For example we were lent a trolley from the kitchen to whisk everything out to the car the morning after the wedding to allow the next wedding to set up quicker. Staff- Danny the wedding and events coordinator was fabulous, questions were answered promptly even when working from home due to covid and the furlough scheme. On the day of the wedding all the little last minute details were handled with care and attention. When we visited for meetings we always felt listened to and felt happy with the service. We asked to give our guests a choice of two meals, although the preference is only one, because of how we managed this process the hotel were happy to oblige (a really comprehensive spreadsheet is a winner). Stuart the bar manager was amazing we didn't have to worry about our daughter ordering a drink, as he knew exactly what she wanted each time and who it was for. This made a really nice touch, especially when he brought her a drink at breakfast the next day to her specification without seeing her first (blackcurrant with a straw) Restaurant staff- really helpful and prompt service, happy to help with any questions, and tweak meals to fussy eaters. Parking- extensive parking all around the hotel, not just the main car park to the left of the main reception doors (as you face the doors) Birds of Prey centre- to the rear of the hotel is a fantastic place to visit if you have children, they were booked to do a flying display at our wedding unfortunately due to the weather this wasn't possible, but they did bring 2 owls and the golden eagle down to the hotel for our guests to hold and experience, another great talking point. The hotel also communicated with them on our behalf during the day. We felt all of our wedding was good value for money, and everyone had a truly memorable day.

We had our wedding at Burn Hall yesterday. We originally booked this for 2020 but got postponed because of covid. Throughout the postponed weddings I can't fault burn hall. They went above and beyond to make our day so special. I can't thank Danny and the team enough for all there hard work that went into our wedding. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we were made to feel relaxed and comfortable all day. The food was absolutely amazing, all the guests commented on how good the food tasted. Perfect day. Caring and calm wedding coordinator helped us prepare months in advance and on the day. Food was cooked well and guests commented on the high standard. We kept it simple with a chicken traditional Sunday dinner and chocolate whisky tart. Dj was a dancing phenomena and got all the guests up demonstrating songs action's like Saturday night. The wedding reception room we decorated ourselves but it had a nice backdrop of fairy lights and altogether looked magical The honeymoon suite came as a courtesy which was a nice gesture. It was nice to have this quiet space as it came with its own adjoining private lounge so a calm place to chill out. The only thing I would have improved would have been air conditioning to add to the room. We knew the hotel was not brand new so the decor was as we expected maybe 80s style or 70s but well done. It was clean and a lovely view over the fields. The shower was also retro but great water pressure so not an issue. We will definitely be returning to this little gem of a hotel not just for some anniversaries but also other family or friend get togethers It is fantastic value for money and all the staff were friendly, clean, smart and helpful. We felt like we were on holiday even though we live nearby. A big thank you to Burnhall staff for a lovely Wedding x

Just had our daughters wedding here on the 4th June. Nothing was too much trouble. Booking in, sat in the bar for pre wedding celebrations, the day itself just went perfectly. The staff were more than helpful, with a special mention for Danny. He was there the whole weekend making sure we were all fine and everything was going to plan. Couldnt have managed without him. We had so many guests comment on the service and staff. Thank you Burn Hall - no mean feat catering for 120 guests .You made it a fantastic day with so many memories.

The food service ran so smoothly at our wedding breakfast and I’ve had nothing but amazing feedback on the food and service. The accommodation was amazing, lovely and spacious for my bridal party and myself to get ready the morning of the wedding. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful, perfect for photography. I can’t thank Nicky and Leo enough for how amazing our day was!
