COVID-19 Update
We are now authorised to hold small outdoor weddings for up to 10 people. We have choices of outdoor spaces so do please get in touch. We have just had our first post-Covid outdoor wedding and it went very well, despite the extra hygiene precautions. The family group had a meal in the Stone Barn after the ceremony and all went very well. We are hoping that numbers allowed indoors are going to increase soon in line with Ireland.

Full Description
Breckenhill is an exclusive-use private barn venue to hire for your wedding. Ideal for the creative bride and groom who wish to make their day unique in their own special way. Basically, you hire the venue, then add your choice of caterers, decor company, florist, music and DJ, etc. On enquiry, we will send you a list of our Recommended Suppliers, along with our price list and Terms and Conditions. We have a number of options for the ceremony, depending on your number of guests, and the weather! They include: Upstairs in the Stone barn: Seats up to 80 Downstairs in the Stone barn: Seats up to 30 The Green Barn: can hold 220 although we only have 150 chairs! Drawing Room in the Georgian house: Seats up to 25 Garden (various areas): any number of guests, but remember they need to be able to be accommodated for the meal as well Reception: This can be held in any of the areas mentioned. For smaller weddings the Stone Barn can accomodate up to 80 and you can use the downstairs and patio garden for the early part of the day such as for a Champagne reception and then you can move upstairs for the meal and evening's entertainment. The upstairs room can be changed from ceremony to dining area very quickly. For larger weddings the Green barn with the associated conservatory and bar area has a greater capacity can also be used for a more informal style of dining, and later on for dancing. This barn seats up to around 140, at our rustic wooden trestle tables. We have an Entertainment Licence that allows for 220 in the Green Barn finishing at 1am and we request that guests have all departed by 1.30am. We can now also offer accommodation in lovely bell tents - glamp on site! Yippee Tents have joined up with us to provide the tents and have various price brackets from £220 for a basic 4-bed (lovely air beds) tent to a luxury furnished tent for the bride and groom.

Autumn wedding at the perfect venue.
We got married in September 2019 and it was such a great day. Breckenhill was perfect for us as we wanted to put so much of our own personality into the decor, the food and drink and have the freedom to do that. The location was beautiful and Henrietta and David were so helpful on the day! So many people said how wonderful it was to have different areas to be in throughout the day. Guests loved the football table and the outdoor games. We used Root Soup as our caterer and people brought their own drinks. The bar staff were brilliant and so professional. If you want a wedding with character and something people will remember- this is a great venue for that.

We had our wedding reception at Breckenhill last Saturday and we cannot recommend them enough. Henrietta and David have been so helpful throughout the planning process. We live in England and they made planning from afar stress free. All emails were replied to very quickly! On the day, both Henrietta and David were very calm and had everything under control. Guests loved the archery and the outdoor games. They also commented on the beautiful grounds. We wouldn't change anything about the day and that's largely due to Henrietta and David's help and professionalism. We highly recommend!

Lovely and relaxed wedding venue
We got married here in May 2019 and had an amazing day! We wanted it to be relaxed and fun, and we were able to choose exactly what we wanted without being tied to a wedding package like other venues. We opted for a hog roast and guests brought their own drinks. The barn was beautiful and the owners rented us extra decorations for a very reasonable price. Henrietta and David were so helpful, and on the day they made sure that everything ran smoothly so we were free to relax. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Breckenhill to anyone who is looking for something a bit different.

Most perfect wedding venue
We got married here in September and it was even more perfect than we ever could have imagined ! We were able to make the venue everything we wanted and add all our own rustic decorations. Henrietta was fantastic in the run up to the wedding and answered any questions I had. Our guests are still commenting on how memorable a day they had and how peaceful and scenic the venue was! Perfect location and the perfect wedding venue !!

The best day of our lives!
We were looking for a beautiful venue that would allow us to have a super relaxed day but also provide activities for our guests to remember. From the initial contact Henrietta was so helpful and went above and beyond to help us create our perfect wedding. The grounds are stunning, the atmosphere is relaxed and we were able to have archery after the ceremony for our guests to have a bit of craic. We brought our own food and wine which the venue staff dished out flawlessly. A breath taking venue and all staff were amazing.

"no words to decribe how amazing this place is"
There are just no words to describe how amazing this place is. It's stunning natural beauty speaks for itself, there are so many areas of picturesque perfection around these grounds we were spoiled as to where to have not just our pictures taken, but which part to have our outdoor ceremony. I knew I wanted an outdoor woodland festival type wedding and thought it would never happen, we couldn't find anywhere that offered us this, we actually were going to go a place in slane, nearly 2 hours away. And then we stumbled across breckenhill, right on our doorstep and we were stunned by its beauty. We were every bit as taken with Henrietta and David as we were with the venue. The first thing I noticed was how they were able to recall previous weddings they had hosted and who the bride and groom were. I work in the wedding industry and have been in so many venues, and never have I came across 2 kinder more genuine and accommodating people. Nothing was a hassle, nothing was too much effort, they were so open to ideas and went above and beyond for us, even creating a whole new glampsite area, providing us with porta loo toilets and decorating the wooded walkway to the glampsite with bunting and lights. As a florist that was doing my own wedding, David was always on hand with a set of ladders and his engineering skills to assist with any mechanics and moving things, and a cup of tea was always on offer. As we were having a bit of a floral extravaganza we were allowed in the TWO days before to decorate, which enabled us to have the displays we dreamed of, and we literally utilised every area of the venue. On the day itself Henrietta and David blended seamlessly into the background, working tirelessly and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Because we were glamping on site it meant we had a whole wedding weekend instead of everyone going home at 1am, and this was as much fun as the actual wedding. The activities the next day were brilliant fun, and managing a group of tipsy 30-40 something year old I'm sure was no easy job!! If you want a venue that has no personalisation, a couple of weddings on at the same time and where your just another wedding then this place isn't for you. If you want somewhere beautiful, a bit quirky and different and where your actually made to feel like your day matters and it's not just about making money then this is definatly the place for you. Just cannot recommend it enough, they really made it a dream wedding for us. Cannot wait to go back next year for my husbands 40th and our first wedding anniversary. Well done Henrietta and David, we just cannot thank you enough xxx

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

Impossible to choose the best wedding, but we loved the fancy dress wedding, where the groom planned everything himself from when the 150 guests arrived on a bus, champagne reception at the bridge on the drive, playbus and petting zoo for the kids, hog roast, mobile pizza wagon, ice cream van, outdoor activities, archery, and more, more, more!
