Full Description
  • Picture your wedding marquee sited either on the Canal Lake venue on the main lawn overlooking the lake’s stone bridge with a vista of the Doric Temple in the distance, all to a backdrop of the old coach house with its elegant clock tower, or in the more rustic Cedar Tree venue overlooking the Bottom lake with its barn and Gothic Boathouse surrounded by magnificent old specimen trees. As your guests marvel at the views, the home to one of the largest collections of water birds in the country, with cranes and peafowl gracing the lawns, imagine wandering off to take advantage of some truly unique photo locations including a Gothic Boathouse, a Doric Temple and a rustic stone bridge spanning the lake. We understand each wedding is different, with each couple using their experiences and vision to create a unique personality both inside and outside the marquee and we have a variety of carefully vetted wedding reception suppliers for you to use. You can find more details in our eBrochure and in the download section on our website (including local accommodation suppliers). We only hold a few weddings receptions each year to ensure your day is not one of many. To arrange a visit please contact us.
  • Personal Message from the Manager
Name of Wedding Contact: Bill Douetil
Congratulations on your engagement, it must be a very exciting time. We are a family run venue & home to one of the largest collections of water birds in UK. To help Mum continue in her passion to the conservation of water birds, we offer the grounds as a wedding hire venue. We run the venue to our family values and we are not a ‘rush in/out’ venue. If you have any question or require more information please feel free to contact me.

Ask a question
Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
All of them, after all it is the couples most important day
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Get a budget in place and decide where you wish to spend more and where less. This will help with those 'head v heart' decisions. Most of all enjoy it all.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
A bride's Grandmother who had spent months and months hand making all the marquee bunting - the inside looked fantastic
Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.
Unique, rustic, private, exclusive, nature
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
The 3 lakes, the Coach House, a Gothic Boathouse, a Doric Temple and a rustic stone bridge spanning the lake
What’s your favourite canapé?
As a non fish eater, it has to be mini beef and Yorkshire puddings with horseradish for myself and for Mum it is Tempura prawns
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Mini burgers or crepes and if Mum was awake for her it would be a bacon sandwich
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Private valley with specimen trees, 3 lakes and the home to one of the largest collections of water birds in the country
What part of your business are you most proud of?
That we are family run and run every event to our family values
