We host two types of weddings here at Coul House are either a Residential (exclusive use) or Non-Residential (limited use/day time use).
To have an evening dance and Ceilidh band you would have to have a residential wedding.
A Residential wedding has the advantage that your party will have exclusive use of our country house (in high season, April - September, there is a minimum of two nights B&B taking all 21 bedrooms for you and your guests) and enjoy the undivided attention of our entire staff. This provides the perfect ambience to relax and share this special time with your friends and family. If you wish to keep it informal the night before Chef Garry will create a casual menu, such as a BBQ or themed menu, such as a Italian buffet or curry night for your guests on their arrival night. The exclusive use is granted strictly on the condition of booking all of the rooms of the hotel. We cannot host an evening reception when we have non-wedding guests already booked to stay at the hotel.
For those looking to have a smaller reception that do not need overnight accommodation, a Non-Residential wedding is the obvious choice. The limited use implies that you have no or very few guests staying overnight and, thus, your access to the public rooms will have to be limited to the period from 12.30 pm until 5.30pm, allowing us to resume dinner service in the restaurant for other guests by 6.30pm.
We can cater for up to 80 guests for a sit down meal and up to 130-140 for an evening reception. The average cost is £100 per person including the meal, celebratory drink, wine with the meal and an evening buffet or £85 without an evening buffet. Adding canapes prior to the meal typically adds £7 pp to the budget.
We charge a site fee of £1000 which includes chair hire and our in house wedding co-ordinator.
We can of course custom your celebration to fit your budget and pride ourselves on being extremely accommodating.
