Positioned right next to the Royal Exchange, The Counting Housee was originally designed by H.C. Boyes and built in 1893 as Prescott’s Bank. Now transformed in to our wonderful pub & hotel, this entire setting vibrates with history and quiet refinement. The venue inhabits a well-preserved banking hall whose foundations partly lay on a 2000-year-old Roman basilica. This sense of prestige can be seen in the property's finely-aged decor, from the tasteful chandeliers to the rich wood displayed throughout. The venue offers ample choice for breathtaking wedding photographs.
Here, you can choose from four signature function rooms or opt for exclusive hire of the entire venue. The Griffin Room is the largest suite, with a maximum capacity of 80 guests and a private bar. This surprisingly intimate space is highly flexible and well suited to ceremonies and receptions. Elsewhere, The Partners Room is the height of luxury, ideally suited to micro weddings of 30, while The Club Room provides a cosy nook for small parties of 8. In its entirety, the pub can seat 120 guests across its two floors, with an abundance of relaxing breakout spaces.
For overnight stays, you will find 15 boutique bedrooms with beautiful boutique hotel rooms on-site to stay in, you and your guests needn't travel far before or after your big day. Which include Egyptian cotton sheets, Nespresso machines and a complimentary breakfast.
