What could be a more magical backdrop for your wedding than a collection of exotic and amazing animals set in 33 acres of beautiful woodland? Your guests will be entertained all day as they are free to explore our wonderful park.
As a fully licensed venue, you have a choice of two beautiful locations for your civil ceremony, right in the heart of the zoo. Goodamoor House is one of only a handful of venues in the country to offer an outdoor wedding choice, so the magic will start the moment you walk down the aisle...
We have a large, flexible reception room for the evening celebrations and a Marquee Reception Room set in the heart of the Zoo, surrounded by our collection of carnivores. We have a fully licensed bar and plenty of parking for all. We can even arrange coach transport if you need it.
Here at Dartmoor Zoo we can cater for any type of food. Whether it be BBQ's, Hog Roasts, 3 course meals or anything else, we can tailor the menu to suit you.
And to top it off, we believe that Wedding planning shouldn't be an obstacle course of complicated rates, that's why we have a very straightforward pricing policy so that you can fit our venue into your budget without worrying about any hidden surprises.
What nakes our Venue truly special is that all of the money raised from our weddings goes straight back into helping run the zoo, contributing to conservation, education and development.

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
One of our very first Wedding hosted here was a 3 day Wedding weekend, inclusive of an animal themed party on the first day for 150 people followed by their ceremony and reception on day two and finished with a free rooam zoo day on the final day.
Although very tiring, it was truly the most spectacular Wedding I have ever been involved in...in which they managed to turn a day of celebrations into a 3 day festival of love & admiration!
What’s your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
The key to a successful Wedding day is our old friend 'Organisation'. Being organised from the very start willl make the journey much smoother! Secondly, work out a budget that you can afford for your ideal Wedding and tailor your inclusions to meet this Budget, things like making your own decorations to match your theme will save you a lot of money and is a rather fun hen get together activity!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Due to the rising costs of Venues and services, we have seen a lot of brides and grooms unleashing their inner creative selves by making their own table decorations. We've seen brides browse the local charity shops for old hardback books and pocket watches to match their Alice in Wonderland theme but we've also seen innovative yet vintage Wedding favours such as homemade jam's instead of the classic name place cards.
