- Our stunning Main Hall has all the grandeur you’d expect of a Regency building – beautiful high ceilings, stained glass windows, period features and an irresistible sense of space and light – all of which combine to give your ceremony a real ‘WOW’ factor. The Main Hall can seat up to 200 guests and with an entrance through the impressive columned facade you will be the stars in your very own love story. Weddings of up to 60 guests can be held in our Mayor’s Parlour. With huge sash windows offering glimpses of the River Tamar and a feature fireplace, this is the idyllic space for a more intimate ceremony. Adjacent to the Guildhall is Devonport Column with a viewing platform at 124feet – one of the highest public viewing points in the city – offering spectacular vistas towards Dartmoor and out to sea…and a great view of your guests on the Plaza below, toasting your nuptials with a glass of bubbly.

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
Last Christmas we had a couple that decided their first dance would be them dressed as the Penguins from the John Lewis advert, they both dressed up in penguin onesies and our big dance floor space allowed them to do their routine with ease.
What’s your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Remember to make your wedding personal - our Main Hall is a complete blank canvas which allows couples to decorate it exactly how they want, making their whole day represent them as a couple.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
On of our previous weddings used Golden Syrup tins and other knick-knacks that you can find in your cupboard on their tables for flowers.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
At the front of our building is grand steps that are framed by Roman columns - this provides the perfect space for your group photo.

We don't supply canapes. We do recommend that you supply your own caterers.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
How about a cheeky drink from our in house bar.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The whole building is unique. From our front steps with Roman Columns to our grand Main Hall - even the original cells on the bottom floor. You are sure to find something unique around every corner.
