Full Description
Devonport Guildhall is a beautiful Grade 1 listed building situated in Plymouth, Britain's Ocean City. The building has been artfully restored and is now a thriving cultural and events venue. We offer a variety of wedding packages including Civil Ceremonies and receptions, making Devonport Guildhall the perfect location for your special day. Our dedicated and highly experienced events team will be with you every step of the way, ensuring you are looked after during what we know can be a highly stressful time. On the ground floor, our grand Main Hall with original stained glass windows is perfect for larger ceremonies or receptions. The adjacent Mayor's Parlour is a light and airy Georgian style room which works for more intimate ceremonies or as a quieter break out space for your reception. Devonport Column towers next to the main Guildhall building, offering panoramic views across Plymouth's skyline. This 126ft structure has a real air of fairy-tale about it! The magic doesn't stop there, in addition to wedding packages our onsite, award winning artisan bakery Column Bakehouse can provide beautifully rustic, homemade and locally sourced buffets for you and your guests to enjoy. Contact the Devonport Guildhall team to discuss your requirements further, request a brochure or arrange a visit.

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

We had a couple that got married at Christmas who decided for their first dance the would dress as the Penguins from the John Lewis advert, so they both dressed up in penguin onesies and our big dance floor space allowed them to do their routine with ease.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Remember to make your wedding personal - our Main Hall is a complete blank canvas which allows couples to decorate it exactly how they want, making their whole day represent them as a couple.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

One of our previous weddings used Golden Syrup tins and other knick-knacks that you can find in your cupboard on their tables for flowers.

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

unique, bright, historic, elegant, perfect

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

At the front of our building there is a grand staircase that is framed by Roman columns - this provides the perfect space for your group photo.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

No not yet!

What’s your favourite canapé?

You are welcome to bring your own catering, but our award winning Bakehouse create the most delicious rustic food including canapes. Our favourite is Harissa roast vegetables Crostini with a minted crème fraiche

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

How about a cheeky drink from our in house bar.

What is your venue's most unique feature?

The whole building is unique. From our front steps with Roman Columns to our grand Main Hall - even the original cells on the bottom floor. You are sure to find something unique around every corner.

We are so proud that every bride/groom that books with us has the perfect day and always recommend us to others. We take pride in our building and what we offer.
