    Detailed Description

Family and friends will be coming from all over the world to be with you on your wedding day, and Monks will welcome them all. From the Tuesday before your Saturday wedding, all of us at Monks will be here to help you, to take in deliveries, deal with suppliers, and provide calming cups of tea. Would you like the groomsmen to help decorate the marquee? Would your bridesmaids like to do the flowers? Would you like to host a brunch in the marquee the day after your wedding? Play cricket, fly kites, chat and relax in a beautiful meadow? We are happy for you to take the time to make your wedding day unique and personal, filled with memories of fun and friendship. The gardens are wonderful from spring right through to the autumn - filled with colour and scent and rich with butterflies and bees. The Corn Barn is a spectacular space - perfect for a civil ceremony, or wedding breakfast, or barn dance. The Gallery is perfect for smaller weddings, while the meadows offer plenty of space for marquees (up to 400) and parking.

    FAQs

    - Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
The most perfect summer day, with the gardens full of poppies and daisies and cornflowers, and a beautiful, sweet natured bride marrying her special guy. Happy tears from the mother of the bride, and relaxed and contented guests with time to appreciate the special beauty and peace of Devon and Dartmoor.
    - What’s your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
If you are happy, your family and friends will be happy. And nobody will ever notice that the napkins didn't match!
    - What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Great big tubs of flowers, specially grown by the father of the bride, placed at the entrance of the marquee.
