Detailed Description

Set within Hardcastle Crags, an enchanted wooded valley, is Gibson Mill, a unique and sustainable location for your wedding. The valley is carpeted with bluebells in early summer and a rich blanket of leaves in Autumn as the summer draws to a close. The 400 acres of un-spoilt woodland is filled with deep ravines, tumbling streams, and glorious waterfalls with over 15 miles of footpaths to explore. Gibson Mill, a former cotton mill and entertainment emporium, has operated off-grid for more than 10 years, and generates all its own power as well as minimizing waste and using its own spring water. The woodland at Hardcastle Crags and the setting of Gibson Mill in the heart of the valley are often described by our visitors as magical. Whatever time of year you choose for your wedding, our peaceful and relaxed atmosphere will make your day very special. This unique location offers an enchanted woodland setting and fascinating history; it is available for civil ceremonies on only 12 dates per year, making this a very special place for your celebration. Weddings are held in the former Dancing Hall, a versatile space filled with light. It can be dressed in many different ways and laid out to suit your chosen ceremony.
