- Hammet House is a unique contemporary-chic styled Georgian manor house, with striking bold interior design set within spectacular Georgian architecture. We are exceedingly proud of food & drink offering, with fine dining wedding menus, exquisite canape options, bespoke cocktails, organic wine list & a range of exciting evening options, including BBQ'd lobster on the patio, or our fun 'pizza delivery'. or stunning locally sourced cheese & pudding table. The house boasts an elegant Georgian drawing room with contemporary styling (think Ghost chairs & lighting by Innermost), perfect for wedding ceremonies up to 95 guests. Our library bar is the perfect space for drinks receptions & canapes, & in the warmer months guests can enjoy croquet on the front lawn (also space fro helicopter landings!). Our spectacular ballroom can seat 160 for the wedding dinner, & opens out onto our south facing patio & large side lawns - perfect for group photographs, fireworks if you fancy, games of giant jenga & BBQs in the evening. The ballroom has capacity for up to 220 guests for an evening party, with space for a live band &/or D.J. We have 15 elegant guest bedrooms in the hotel, including our 'Outstanding' 4-poster room which is complimentary for the bride & groom on the night of the wedding when booking an exclusive use event. Our events team are experts in planning & providing seamless & friendly service to ensure your special day runs effortlessly.

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
So many highlights - from intimate evening dinners for 40 guests with fabulous acoustic music, to large-scale spectaculars with 4 courses, helicopter landings, male voice choirs & crashing waiters - we have so many special memories of our wonderful couples.
What’s your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
There are no silly questions!! It's quite likely that it will be the 1st time you have organised an event on this scale, so ask your contact at your venue absoloutely anything. A really good event coordinator will be able to tune into your ideas & the feel of the day you wish to create & should be able to make helpful suggestions to make your ideas come alive & work practically on the day.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We recently had a couple who had photos for every guest instead of place names - the photos were from all eras & were a real talking point amongst the guests - lovely!

The front of the Georgian house outside, the magnificent staircase inside.

We're used to dealing with high profile clients, & far too discreet to reel off a list! ;-)

A classic smoked salmon crostini with avocado salsa, lime & coriander always goes down well!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Our wonderful local '3 counties' cheese & pudding table.
