Within the castle we can host civil ceremonies and celebrations to suit any style of wedding whether you are looking for something more traditional, informal or extravagant. As well as the reception rooms, there are also numerous unique features including the spectacular counter-levered stairway, central stone staircase with decorative ceiling, captivating cloisters and hidden doorways.
We are pleased to be able to offer both indoor and outdoor spaces for your ceremony. The chapel is perfect for a traditional style ceremony or blessing, with huge stained glass windows, pews and an ornate painted ceiling. The central courtyard offers a magnificent setting, with ornamental trees and views down to the gatehouse, surrounded by original crenellation.
For your reception, the castle is a fantastic entertaining space with great versatility. Welcome your guests in the library, with glorious views and steps down to the south lawns. Here they can enjoy drinks and canapes.
The grand ballroom is a spectacular location for the wedding breakfast. With tall ceilings, lavish chandeliers and grand mirrors it offers the perfect backdrop for your first meal as a married couple. We have carefully created our menus to include a wide variety of exciting dishes, beautifully presented, using only the highest quality ingredients, which are locally sourced wherever possible. There is also a ceremonial to cut your wedding cake.
The castle grounds boast a wide array of gardens offering endless possibilities for exquisite photographs. These include stunning water features, island pavilions, a waterfall and a 200 year old Wisteria Arch. The gothic tower at the centre of the maze offers panoramic views of the estate.
