My perfect wedding
I'd just like to say a special thank you to Tracey, Ryan , Theo , Dan , Jamie-Leigh , Ben , Will and Alex. You were all absolutely amazing and i can not thank you enough. Tracey was absolutely incredible and made me feel at ease when I was at my most anxious..any worries I had for the day she took care of without hesitation and the team went the extra mile. Claire our wedding manager was incredible and extremely organised , keeping us in the loop at every stage of the process. It was the perfect wedding for us and a day we will never forget! Definitely recommend this beautiful place and the staff are a credit to the hotel. ❤️

Thank you!
My husband and I married here on February 1st 2020. It was just surreal! The staff went above and beyond to make sure our day was exactly how we wanted it to be. Tracey and Liam were absolutely fantastic throughout the day and helped so much especially with little things we completely overlooked in our planning. Claire was an amazing from the moment we booked the wedding, I had lots to ask and she was always so happy to help. The food here was absolutely delicious and guests constantly complimented the menu and even mention now how great the food was. We booked exclusive use and I definitely recommend this to anybody planning on getting married here. It was lovely having breakfast with just our guests the next morning. The breakfast was amazing and the scrambled egg..I have no words for. Just before our wedding we found out we are expecting our first child. We let the staff know and they were just amazing and supportive throughout. We wanted to tell our guests during the announcements and Liam made a lovely drink (that I cannot for the life of me remember the name of) that looked and tasted like alcohol but was in fact alcohol free to make sure guests didn't get suspicious before announcements. My family and I just want to say a massive thank you again to all the hard work the staff put in during the planning and on our special day.

A Fantastic Day
Dear Claire, just a quick note from me to say a huge thank you to you and all the staff at Holdsworth House who gave us a fantastic day on 2nd January! Both Lesley and I loved the day, I had high expectations, and they were amazingly surpassed! Until that day, Holdsworth House had hosted the best wedding I had ever been to in the UK, and had only been beaten by one held in Segovia. I may be biased, but I think ours beat it. We have been inundated with messages about how good the day was. Staff, food and venue. Tracy and all the others in attendance throughout the day were outstanding! Thank you all very much! All our best wishes for 2020 and beyond! Roger & Lesley xx

Excellent wedding venue
Our daughter got married here recently and what a fantastic day it was. From start to finish everything ran like clockwork and was made stress free by all the staff, especially the Mistress of ceremonies who was always in control of everything. The food was superb also as was the customer service. Just excellent in every way.

FAQ

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

Every wedding is completely unique because many couples use Holdsworth House as their blank canvas. Outdoor weddings in the courtyard are especially pretty. Exclusive Use wedding are also fantastic because the couple and their families get to roam the grounds, rooms and gardens at will! But we also have lots of stunning, intimate weddings in the historic, stone Gazebo with just a few friends - it's utterly romantic.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Be sure to let your wedding coordinator take the strain. Wedding planning should be fun and we can help by advising on the best timings, numbers and how many to cater for to ensure all your guests are happy and you're not worrying about ANYTHING on the day!

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

We're a dog-friendly hotel so we love it when couples bring their pooches as ring bearers, or just to be part of the ceremony. We see some dogs wearing bow ties or corsages to match the wedding colours, it's fabulous!

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

Unique, quirky, historic, hospitable, stunning

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

The front gardens with the historic facade in the background

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Lots! From The Beatles in 1967 to Jamie Oliver, plenty of actors, film directors, musicians, comedians. They all stay here when on business in the area. We've had lots of filming here too because it's so pretty - most recently BBC's Last Tango in Halifax, The One Show, Ackley Bridge, Jamie Oliver's Great Britain

What’s your favourite canapé?

Yorkshire pudding with roast beef and horseradish sauce

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Pulled pork burgers

What is your venue's most unique feature?

It's historic facade (closely followed by the mullioned windows, beamed ceilings, stone fireplaces, creaky floors and Colonnade Courtyard!!)

What part of your business are you most proud of?

The team - we get so many great comments about friendly staff that bend over backwards to exceed expectations.
