If you are looking for a truly unique wedding venue then Horsebridge Station won’t disappoint. Located in the scenic Test Valley between the towns of Stockbridge and Romsey, the former Victorian railway station has plenty to offer with a host of original features including a station house, two full length platforms, railway carriage, signal box, signals and a host of memorabilia from the golden age of steam, not to mention beautifully landscaped gardens. Perfect for those all-important wedding photos, plus plenty of space to have a band, dancing and perhaps some outside games!
Although you can tie the knot here too either on Platform one or the Waiting Room while your guests sit on Platform 2 to watch you. It is a fabulous spot for a stylish reception. Sure to excite railway enthusiasts and die hard romantics alike, there is plenty of opportunity to theme your celebration and wow your guests. You don’t have to worry about the weather either; both platforms have covered canopies so you and your nearest and dearest can enjoy a drinks reception in the dry. The marquee is just a few yards away and comfortably seats 100 guests. It can be decorated to suite your personal style and has a sound system and dance floor so you can party the night away.
In the summer, when the roses are in full bloom, the landscaped gardens can be enjoyed to the full. The spacious lawns are ideal for outdoor games, while the ponds and waterfall close to the signal box are a popular spot for newly weds to pose for portrait shot. There is a real country garden feel to the grounds while the resident fantail doves complete the picture.
