  • Nestled among the rolling Chiltern hills and tucked away just off the historic Old Amersham high street, Kings Chapel is Amersham's best kept secret. Just a stone's throw from London you would never guess that the little old town of Amersham is in Zone 9 as the countryside stretches out in front of you. Pairing little and large perfectly; it is quietly breath-taking from its spectacular domed main hall to its tiny finer details of the glittering chandeliers in the elegant reception room. Have your ceremony on the distinguished mezzanine overlooking beautiful Chiltern views through the large arched windows, or perhaps atop the original classic pulpit to draw all eyes to you. Spill out into our walled garden or beautiful reception room for a celebratory glass of bubbly (or several!), and then wander in to take your seats for the most delicious hearty meal prepared fresh on site. With the option of a late bar and accommodation on site, continue the party on into the early hours of the morning and then let us help you to a hearty full English and continental breakfast. We truly believe every wedding is unique and so we are not a package venue; we itemise everything separately and let you pick and choose whatever you'd like to make your bespoke day come to life, from decorating the venue to selecting the menu. The team are all so friendly, and they take such care and pride in their work it makes me so proud to be a part of it all. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
It's so hard to choose! Every wedding is so different and unique, which is the best thing about them! We always love when couples make the most of the unique venue and go for really different or interesting decorations.
What’s your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Consider what is most important to you! You'll feel a lot of pressure from your budget, or family and friends and be eager to please everyone, sometimes to the detriment of your own enjoyment of the day - truly the only 2 people who need to be happiest on the day are you and your future spouse.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We always love it when something really special to the couple can be included, whether it's making the venue like home with family photographs or asking Nana to make the cake. Our favourite times often include when there has been a surprise planned for the happy couple that they genuinely had no idea about!

Unique, beautiful, charming, individual, historic
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our recommended photographers always manage to find new angles in unique nooks and crannies! We have so many different and interesting features, it's hard to pick the best spot! It really depends on what the couples value the most about our amazing venue.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Marc Owen from Take That performed as a surprise for one couple!
What’s your favourite canapé?
We have a really wide range of choices for canapés but the definite crowd-pleaser is our Mushroom and Truffle Cappuccino, it's so intricately made and the delicate flavours are so moreish.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Who can beat a bacon buttie at the end of the night!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
It's got to be a choice of 3; either our original pulpit, the elegant mezzanine or the spectacular domed ceiling with one of the largest unsupported domes in England.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We particularly take pride in the fact that all of our weddings are so individual, and that we are able to make this possible. We wedding co-ordinators are genuinely friendly and interested in people and the different stories that pass through our doors, and making people happy is what makes us tick. We man the office 7 days a week and are always up for a chat and ready to answer any questions you may have.
