Kinkell Byre

This wedding venue is one of my favourites in Scotland to photograph weddings at! Not only is it providing so much diverse room to make this venue as personal as possible but it also the team gives amazing planning advice to their couples. The sea view is absolutely stunning and not to mention their herd of highland cows. They have added little guest huts for the perfect wedding experience and I can't wait to go back to photograph my next Kinkell Byre Wedding soon!

Kinkell is a beautiful blank canvas that you can either leave in its natural beauty or make your own for the day.We had looked at quite a few different venues before we went to see Kinkell as we both initially had a different vison for the venue which meant we wanted to look at both and decide what would be best for us collectively. We looked at Castles and other barn venues but there was a lot of restrictions on suppliers and for some venues hidden costs. Kinkell is a “what you see is what you get” venue with the freedom and support to make your day exactly how you want it. Some examples that may seem small but played a huge role in our decision was the fact we could allow our guests a choice of different food options on the day, that we could use any supplier to decorate the venue to bring our vison to life. The venue is so beautiful inside that if it was raining, we could still have amazing pictures inside. Until we looked and spoke to venues, we had no clue that some would have so many restrictions on certain areas. With that said this means more work looking for and organising suppliers but we honestly think that additional workload was worth it. These were some of the many things that Kinkell would let us have our day reflecting on us, rather than a generic wedding day. The team at Kinkell were also very attentive, supportive and were always on hand to help. Even the day before and on our day, we had someone there keeping us calm and everyone right. They even took photos and videos for us to look at the next day which was honestly such a lovely surprise and addition to have! You can tell the team are invested and genuinely care, not once were we made to feel like an inconvenience, and they kept in touch before the wedding. Nothing was too much hassle and they kept suppliers right who arrived on the day as to how we wanted things set up.

Kinkell Byre was truly the most wonderful wedding venue. It was actually the only venue we viewed as we knew it was absolutely perfect the minute we stepped foot in. We loved being able to choose which suppliers we could have on our special day, it allowed us to properly customise the day to make it feel very us. Although a blank canvas venue may feel intimidating, Kinkell provide an extensive list of excellent suppliers, to help build your special day. On top of this list, the team come with years of experience to help guide and advise in the lead up to the wedding. They were always just a phone call or email away. The setting was absolutely perfect. Set on the coast, with stunning gardens, beautiful glamping cabins (where the bridal party actually got ready in) - the place is perfect for a real Scottish wedding! I think the photos of Kinkell speak for themselves, but Kinkell Byre truly is a magical venue. We can't wait to come back and stay in the cabins for our 1 year anniversary. Thank you Kinkell!

Kinkell was honestly our dream venue. A fantastic venue in an amazing location, backed up by the most helpful staff you could ever ask for. If you are looking for a beautiful rustic venue you can really put your own spin on, there is no where better.

Kinkell was the most perfect venue for our wedding! We did a lot of setup ourselves, we had all day on the Friday to setup and get prepared for the Saturday so we had no stress! Sophie our on the day co ordinator was amazing! She liaised with all of our suppliers for timings and made sure the whole day ran so smoothly! We had a lot of rain on our day but Kinkell is perfectly setup that it didn’t matter at all! We absolutely loved Kinkell, the whole team were helpful and kind all the way through! Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to get married in St Andrew’s! Also the cabins on site are fab! Great for close guests to stay on site!

Played Kinkell Byre twice and on both occasions been met with friendly and accommodating staff. The evening reception space is a great size for a big party. Looking forward to coming back next year.
