The perfect country wedding
From the moment we entered the gates and started down the winding, stoney drive we were in love. This venue ticked all our boxes and the day delivered even more than expected. The team at Lanwades are fantastic - Alex, Elvis, Mason know what they're doing and help to ensure you have a perfect day. We were so lucky with the weather and had games laid out in the garden, along with ice cream and gin and tonics from the Whites Catering company which I also highly recommend. The venue itself is so beautiful, and every time I came back I forgot how big it was. Having lots of different rooms really suited our party and we made use of all the spaces. The bridal suite and accommodation is an added extra, not having to travel after the most tiring day of our lives was a huge plus. I wasn't able to get ready here but I would strong encourage anyone whose ceremony is here or nearby to do so!

FAQ
(10)

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

Maybe in the meadow in the summer with the wild flowers and the sound of crickets.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Some hand made paper flowers making full bouquets and mantelpiece displays were truly impressive. Personalised luggage tags were an excellent favour, as were mini potted plants.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

The Sunken Garden is completely walled and accessed down stone steps. The beds are full of beautiful and vibrant coloured flowers and the lavender attracts countless butterflies.

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

We are as flexible as possible so we can accommodate lots of requests to really make a day personal to you both. We have hosted a traction engine, vintage buses, a lorry, confetti pony, horse and trap, family pets, dodgems, helicopters, and even a carousel!

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

The Hall has historical and more recent links to royalty. Edward VII stayed here when we attended the races at Newmarket.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Intimate, Personal, Elegant, Friendly, Beautiful.

What’s your favourite canapé?

The Wedding Suite always gets a wow when we show it- I always leave it for last. I love the mix of the original Edwardian elegance and charm with contemporary styles and mod-cons.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

It can seem daunting at the start with so many choices to make. Just make one decision at a time and it will all fall into place. If you are stuck or unsure you can always ask us for advice.

What is your venue's most unique feature?

You'll find me at the cheese board.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

Anything with duck or goat's cheese!
