People often ask why Lartington Hall is so magical - there are 3 main reasons people fall in love ...
– There is so much space, all of it absolutely gorgeous, and it’s a mix of grand, elegant, light filled rooms, stunning high ceilings and raised lanterns together with more rustic spaces created in the 17C part of the House such as our Snug and Snooker Rooms . As its an exclusive hire venue, couples get to plan their big day around the many magical spaces – where to have their afternoon tea on arrival, where to have their private dining, where to marry, where to have their wedding breakfast where to cut the cake, where to dance, where to after party and so on. There’s no time lost on the big day resetting rooms and they also get to ‘reveal’ the Hall and its hidden secrets to their guests bit by bit as their day progresses. I never tire of seeing the guests’ reactions as another room such as the Ballroom or Chapel or the wonderful gardens are revealed to them for the first time – you can actually hear audible gasps!
– The interiors are loved by everyone and on a first visit people definitely fall in love with the sumptuous ground floor spaces as well as the luxurious bedrooms – I’m often asked what the paint colours are or where I’ve sourced various things! The quality and detailing in the interior schemes is crucially important to people and from the very first visit they feel really at home! As the Hall is private and exclusive to just the couple and their friends and family, this means it genuinely is their home for the time they are with us too!
– Finally it is simply a magical place – it’s not possible to define if you haven’t visited – but there is definitely a lovely magical feel about the whole Hall and the gardens. Many people cry on their first visit to the Hall, especially in the Chapel. People often comment that they feel calmer and more relaxed than they’ve ever done before – the stresses of 21C life are certainly left at the Lartington Hall gates.
