Full Description
A secluded, rural location set in the Olchon Valley on a 70 acre farm with dramatic mountain backdrop. The folding glass doors of the barn open up onto a pretty lawn, orchard and wildflower meadow with plenty of space for guests to explore. The super friendly team at Lower House Farm have a flexible approach, allowing you to put your own stamp on the venue and create the day you’ve dreamed of. With a dedicated wedding coordinator to help you plan the day, they can offer as much or as little support as you would like. Exclusive to you, the beautifully restored, 17th century barn with vaulted ceilings, flagstone floors and oak timber beams has space for up to 120 guests to feast on long wooden tables with sheepskin adorned benches. Once transformed for the evening, there is capacity for up to 150 guests to party the night away. Using their home reared meat as well as locally sourced produce, your wedding feast will be cooked in the woodfired outdoor kitchen. Whilst your guests mingle, they can watch the kitchen magic happen and enjoy wafts of succulent joints of meat and charred seasonal veg being prepared. Take a stroll to their own secret waterfall, play lawn games in the huge field bordering the Olchon River, have photos with the dramatic mountain backdrop and even toast marshmallows around the firepit come sunset. A wildly beautiful space to host a day to remember. Glamp near the river or book a stay at their nearby country farm house, Old Great Marlborough, sleeping 22.

The Dream Wedding Venue
Having postponed from August 2020, we've still got our big day to look forward to this year. Lower House Farm was the first wedding venue we visited when we started planning; within 5 minutes of meeting the team and looking inside the beautiful barn, we knew it was the one. It’s in the perfect location - both of our backgrounds are English/Welsh, so to have found such an idyllic, stunning, modern venue right on the border, with breathtaking views of the Black Mountains and a waterfall, made us feel like the luckiest couple in the world. You also won’t find another venue that can offer such incredible food, with Jake on hand to create a bespoke menu for your day. Who could resist the opportunity to wow their friends and family with a delicious feast served up from a wood-fired kitchen?! It’s one of the things we are most excited about for our day. If all that wasn’t enough, there’s also Emily. She really goes above and beyond to put your mind at ease, offer advice and generally make the whole process a million times smoother. If it wasn’t for her, there’s no way I would believe that planning the wedding of our dreams would be possible during a global pandemic.

By far the best wedding venue in the Abergavenny area
We looked at Lower House Farm this year as a potential wedding venue for our Summer wedding. Out of all the venues we looked at, the team here were far more professional and welcoming than any other. Their ethos around sustainable food and local suppliers isn't just superficial, they genuinely put the effort in to source great produce. The only reason we didn't pick LHF is that we could find enough accommodation for everyone in one place nearby (which is what we wanted) although there were lots of great recommendations that Emily made. For more local couples, or those a bit more flexible on accommodation, LHF is by far the best wedding venue in the Abergavenny area. We'll definitely be attending one of their Sunday lunches soon!

So Happy!
We had our wedding here in June 2019 and it was perfect. The staff, views, venue, and FOOD! All absolutely amazing, we couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful day, and the reviews from our guests echoed this. So happy!

Better than we could have imagined!
Thank you so much! The day was absolutely perfect for us and better than we could have imagined! Thank you so much to you, Jake, Amy and the rest of the team for helping us make it a reality, we received SO many compliments about the food. The whole day went so smooth and seamlessly and we know how hard you all would have been working behind the scenes to make that happen. Thanks again for making our day perfect, Charlotte and Tom

So many people said how beautiful the venue was
It was incredible, I cannot thank you enough for all the help and support you have provided throughout! All of our guests were happy and had an amazing time! So many people said how beautiful the venue was and how if they could do it all over again they would do it at the farm! Not only was the venue beautiful and the weather held up but the whole team were so helpful and friendly it really added to the whole day!
