The lecture theatre is a beautiful space, perfect for you to make a dramatic entrance and take centre stage. The design of this spectacular theatre will provide an intimate yet striking space for any ceremony. The Arbitration Room is located on the top floor of the building; natural light flows through this beautifully unique space guaranteed to leave a lasting impression on your guests. With cathedral shaped windows and a domed glass sky light, the charm and character of the Arbitration Room is perfect for a romantic celebration. All three spaces are licenced for ceremonies. Our skilled chefs are committed to sourcing local and seasonal ingredients creating menus to delight and surprise. Whether you are looking for a three course fine dining experience, sharing boards or late night bites, we have an array of carefully crafted options to suit any style and taste. We have fully stocked bars and drinks packages to compliment your choices. All spaces are equipped with beautifully atmospheric lighting and audio equipment for music and speeches. We welcome you to invite your favourite suppliers to help you with those all important details; or why not ask us about our local friends, we can introduce you to some of the regions finest suppliers from musicians to florists. Our building is steeped in history, it was the home to the engineers and industrialists that made the North East the powerhouse of the industrial revolution - through coal mining. Ask us how we can incorporate these stories of the 'black diamond' into your special day.

The Wood Hall completely blew us away!
“The Wood Hall completely blew us away...we had no idea we walked past such a glorious space everyday. The thing that made it so special to us was the beautiful stained glass windows, which gave the space a church like feel without having to have a religious ceremony.”
