- Port Eliot is one of the most enchanting places in Cornwall. This idyllic setting, with the imposing house overlooking stunning parkland, is the historic seat of the Earl and Countess of St Germans, home to the Eliot family for over 400 years. Port Eliot is for hire on a very exclusive basis. Weddings at Port Eliot are magical and unforgettable occasions with a vibrant, elegant feel - a ceremony in the delightful Georgian Orangery, at the beautiful Boathouse on the banks of the River Lyhner, or in one of the stunning rooms in the house, followed by a reception in the Grade I listed gardens. We love to work with brides and grooms to help make their special day and night exactly how they imagined it - years of putting on a festival mean we are experts in creating amazing events, through our family of suppliers and associates we can help you source bespoke marquees, furniture, caterers and bands and anything else you might need. Equally, if you would rather go ahead without our input that's fine too! We will act as liaisons between your chosen suppliers to make sure everything runs smoothly on the day.

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
So many, but a favourite was Ross and Zoe's Festival-style wedding; http://myfabulouslife.co.uk/ross-and-zoes-festival-wedding/
What’s your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Delegate jobs to the right people... friends and family usually love to help, and if that cuts costs of flower arrangers, cake makers, etc then fantastic! Also, have lots of ushers on the day and make sure they help make your guests feel looked after in the to-ing and fro-ing between ceremony and reception times.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Having a framed canvas (sometimes a picture of a tree with branches) for guests to write messages on. A lovely thing for the bride and groom to hang up and keep.
Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.
Enchanting, beautiful, magnificent, unspoilt, romantic
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
So so so many, from secret walled gardens to views of the viaduct. But ultimate favourite is down by the river at the boathouse. So peaceful and beautiful.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
No comment! Discretion is key.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Fresh Cornish crab claws with a dip in some homemade mayonnaise.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Port Eliot really is a beautiful place in Cornwall. Children love to run free in the vast lawns, others prefer the calm and dappled shade of the woodland gardens. But everyone is welcome to wander amidst the rhododendrons and camellias or get lost in the maze or lie beside the unspoilt estuary.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
The Round Room in the House. It has Lenkiewicz's mural hand painted on the walls. Stunning in the daytime or by candlelight.
