Full Description
Porthmawr Country House. Our venue has built an excellent reputation over the last 5 years, hosting weddings of all sizes where the brides and grooms have decided their own personal format and we have tailor made the event to suit. We are licensed for civil weddings, with a choice of 4 different areas, each with their own distinct charm, character and status; as expected of this Regency Mansion House, which is 5 star graded by Visit Wales. You could choose a Medieval Gatehouse with 530 years of history where Charles 1st once stayed. Alternatively, a beautifully restored Regency Dining room or the Celtic style banqueting room with a wealth of oak and stone. Porthmawr Manor House becomes your home for your event, when you take exclusive use of the whole site and its three acre grounds. This gives 12 bedrooms over a three day period where at least 32 guests can stay in comfort and with the grandeur of this special location. The site nestles in the centre of Crickhowell, a quintessential and picturesque market town, but is protected from public gaze by the 12 foot high castellated wall. It also has uninterrupted views over the Usk Basin, Black Mountains, Llangattock Escarpment within the Brecon Beacons. We have received fantastic feedback from all our weddings.

A hidden gem!
Absolutely beautiful venue with amazing staff that make everything run smoothly. They add the personal touch by being there with you all the way yet giving the couple/guests space when necessary. Lovely, unique accommodation, fab food, relaxed atmosphere. We wish we could do it all again!
