Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
So hard to pick the best as they are all so different! We've had couples arriving by helicopter, the winter bride who matched her red wellies to her bouquet, and the festival-themed wedding!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
There are significant savings to be made if you decide to get married out of the peak season. Autumn and Spring weddings can be just as beautiful as a summer wedding, at a fraction of the price (and you are not holding out for a sunny day which isn't always a guarantee!)
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
One December wedding gave each person a Christmas bauble with their name on as their placecard, which was really special
Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
There are so many- the grand staircase for that Hollywood style entrance; the West front with its dramatic portico, the morning room with its romantic drapery, the Library with its 6000 books....
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Of course, but we don't name names!
What’s your favourite canapé?
Tempura prawns, a classic but done properly they are amazing.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
I think you can't beat a hot bacon sandwich after a hard night's partying! Or maybe cheese and biscuits to have with the late night port and brandy in front of the Library fire.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
It's not really a feature as such but everyone who visits comments on how Rise Hall feels so warm and friendly. It's grand, but absolutely not pretentious. You can kick off your shoes and make yourself at home.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
I love that so many people love Rise Hall so much, and I love showing them around and telling them all about the history.
