River Tavy Retreat is the perfect setting for your wedding celebration and ceremony, we are a licensed wedding venue where you can say your vows in our beautifully restored Victorian Glasshouse. We are positioned on 10 acres of organic land in the heart of the Devonshire countryside, just outside the market town of Tavistock. Guests are welcome to explore our grounds at their leisure, from the walled garden to the apple orchard with its beehives or simply relax with a drink or two in our breezehouse on the lake. River Tavy Retreat is exclusively yours for the weekend. Our team will prepare you a delicious meal featuring only the best of local, seasonal produce, after which you can dance the night away. The Venue River Tavy Retreat is positioned amongst the lush rolling hills of the Devonshire countryside close to the Cornish border, we are set on 10 acres of organic land with our own spring water. The grounds are exclusively yours for the day and we invite you to explore them at your leisure. The Victorian Glasshouse Our fully restored Victorian glasshouse with outdoor decking and views across the grounds and lake can seat up to 40-50 for your ceremony and dining. For larger parties we hire in marquees to be set up on the lawn; a supplement will apply and is priced by requirement. Mount Tavy Cottage Our 300 year old former gardener's cottage, fully restored to its former glory sleeps up to 8 people in 4 bedrooms with a private bathroom each. Additionally there is a large communal living/dining room, breakfast room and kitchen with access to a beautiful courtyard garden. Perfect for a honeymoon suite and accommodation for your guests. We can arrange a communal breakfast to be prepared on request; a supplement will apply and is priced by requirement. The Walled Garden and Orchard Guests are free to roam the grounds and experience the entire space, including the Victorian walled garden where we grow organic fruit and veggies.
